Yeah, but that's for people watching the show to follow what's going on. No matter the show, there's often a bit of nuance into various moves, and so having someone break it down for the fans is pretty typical. In the case of CCG anime, the players tend not to have the cards (or rulebook) in front of them, so having a character explain what they do is a stand in for the fact you can't lean over and read the card yourself. You also see this with some things like Naruto when, if a character does something particularly clever in an episode (or wins a fight 2-3 episodes later due to something they set up earlier), they do that black and white flashback thing while they explain it to the audience for the people that might not have understood it otherwise. 100% it's an "always that one guy that..." trope, but it's a trope that exists for a fairly good reason, I think...

The turn order goes Protagonist> Black Hair Guy> Mentor/rival guy with ponytail> Crazed Villain. Black hair guy had to end his turn because he was forced to draw cards, and mentor/rival guy played a wild and chose red.

Michael Mello if I had to guess, I’d say Yuno is obviously Yugi or Jaden, Black hair guy is Joey, fat guy who reacted to the skip Card is Tristan, Glasses Guy is a lot like Bastion, Yanagi(also reacted to the skip Card) is like Mai or Alexis, White haired guy(not villain) is like Kaiba or Zane, and the villain is pretty much any Yugioh villain. Mostly Pegasus and Zigfried, but really any of them work. Also, the girl at the beginning I can’t actually compare to a character other than maybe Tèa, but they seem different somehow.
