Robbie we accommodate Mustafi and Xhaka's occasional passing errors, Iwobi's lack of a final ball, aubamayengs inability to hold up the ball, Ramseys lack of pace. So it's not too far fetched to accomodate that ozil is not as defensively sound as the rest. It's about the team working to compliment each other's skills and defeciences. If I am a defensive midfield player on the team I need to understand that Ozil gives us more going forward so I need to do more defensively to help him.

The mental weakness I'm referring to is related more to the mentality needed to not crumble or concede defeat when the pressure builds. Nearing the last 10 games of the season. We are fighting for top 4. We could be fighting for top 3. 4 teams fighting for 2 positions. In previous seasons, this period of time we are entering... Spurs/Rennes/Utd/Rennes would see us bail out of Europa and concede our position as possible CL contenders for next season. Previous seasons we have had our destiny in our hands and we have regularly failed to capitalise on our chances. Its THAT mentality that must be corrected if we are ever to challenge again let alone win something more significant. This game and the next 3 after, can be an indicator of that change... if there has been one.

It's easy to over-dramatise per occasion. The reality is that every game is a test for any ambitious team; you only need to look at ''holier art thou Spuds'' vs Burnley last week. There are many factors: mentality,, luck, injuries. Yes, we do need to improve our mentality (esp in defence when thing go pear shaped , but this applies to any team)

@@netweed09 mentality in general, not defence. We need to improve quality in personnel in defence but no the mentality aspect is within the club, throughout the club. Face a big team we need the mentality to believe we can win it. Come to crunch time we need the mentality to believe we can ride out the crunch. Wenger instilled a mentality of nice lads playing football and top 4 will do. Thats the mentality that needs to be changed/erradicated.

Don Robbie is spot on. We cannot afford to accommodate any players in this type of game. Ramsey has a great record against Spurs, so I'd start him over Ozil tomorrow. I'd also make sure that Laca is our focal point, as he's having a good season also.
