Hopefully, Elon and Vivek clean this up. One of the main reasons we have the right to record public officials is to collect evidence of fraud, waste, and abuse. A government employee's not wanting to be recorded while in public raises suspicion that the employee is engaging in fraud, waste, and abuse. Elon and Vivek are heading up the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in an effort to eliminate fraud, waste, and abuse in government. They are also big First Amendment proponents. With the political direction America took in this election, hopefully, the federal government will less frequently infringe on our rights. Had the election gone the other way, the federal government would have ramped up its infringement on our rights.
