I shall be 91 in November, and I take care of myself. I shower, on my own; prepare meals, on my own, etc. I do my own laundry, once a week, which includes changing my bed linen. I keep track of my medications, and take them, as ordered. I am a vegetarian, as well. God bless all those who stay independent, as well as those who require some help, each day.

I'm going to be 79 years old on August 6, and I still do everything I did when I was raising my 3 kids. I'm still doing cooking for 3 people, for me, my husband, and my great grandchild, who was left in my care when he was 3years old. I vacuum, mopped, laundry, dust furniture, buy groceries, pay bills, take my grand child to school, pick him up after. Exercise when I have time. Sweep the car port when it needs sweeping. Help my husband sweep the sidewalk when he cuts the lawn. Iron everybody's clothes that needs a little ironing. Drive to the dentist and doctor, by myself. Go to the mall by myself. Told my grandson, he has to start driving school, he's now 16. He starts tomorrow in driving school. I need a break in talking him to school within this two years coming. I took a driving refresher class 3 months, so I can stay up to date in my driving. I'm a busy person. I realize I'm getting old. Maybe I'll be able to rest after 2 years from now. Thanks for listening ( reading).

75 and still taking care of a.small.farm. Caring for sheep,goats, chickens, milking two goats and making cheese with the milk, build fences, construct and repair our buildings, grow a garden, tend a small orchard, improve our pastures by planting cover crops, cut up trees that fall in high winds for firewood and I could go on. Work never ends on a farm, but make time for reading, piano, fishing and hunting. My best friend and partner for nearly 55 years is also 75 and works and plays right beside me. If you sit around worrying about getting old that's what will happen. We are aiming for another 40 or 50 years at least. Oh and did I mention my beautiful Arabian saddle horse?
@suzyvegalicious5646
@suzyvegalicious5646 2 ай бұрын
I'm turning 71 soon and also very healthy, no medications either. We don't need to exploit animals for their milk to make cheese, ride on a horse's delicate spine or kill other animals in fishing and hunting to stay healthy. I eat a whole food plant based diet which means not using animals at all for food or anything else for that matter. They want to live in peace and free from harm too.
@claudiamcbride9746
@claudiamcbride9746 2 ай бұрын
@@suzyvegalicious5646 It is your right to live by your ethics, just as it is my right to live by mine. My goats are hardly exploited. In return for the milk I take from them they are well fed, protected from predators, have a warm barn to sleep in with deep straw, fans to cool them in the summer and 10 acres to graze and play on. The kids stay with their mothers until she is ready to wean them, or it becomes necessary to wean them because it is too hard physically on the mother. Once the kids begin eating grain and hay, I put them in a stall right next to their mothers overnight, so I can have part of her milk in the morning. I raise and hunt animals to help put food on our table, just as people have done for thousands of years. Animals in the wild don't live in peace and free from harm. Predators live by killing herbivores. Herbivores may fight among themselves and fatally injure each other, especially males. All animals that live in groups have a hierarchy. Those with the most status get first choice of food and best nesting/sleeping/ watering places. Lower status animals are chased away, have to eat whatever is left over, and often are not protected by the group. Don't tell me about the peace and safety of living in the wild without people "exploiting" them. I've seen how animals live in the wild. And since scientists have found that all growing things are connected by living webs of microbes and communicate, why aren't you concerned about vegetables being ripped out of the ground, or parts of them ripped off for you to eat. Did you object to trees being ripped out of the ground and the living soil scraped away so your house could be built. Aren't these things exploitation?

@@claudiamcbride9746 I'm not going to argue with you because you haven't come to that stage yet where you understand the principles of not taking life or exploiting other beings for your own benefit when you can live a perfectly healthy life like I and millions of others do. Your points are very weak in this discussion. It is about doing the least harm possible. Oh and my house, a studio on a property which used to be a barn has nothing to do with this subject. We grow a huge amount of organic vegetabled and about 40 different types of fruits. Please don't insult me by comparing a carrot being sliced for dinner to a living sentient being having their throat slit open. Would you like your throat to be slit? End of story.
@suzyvegalicious5646
@suzyvegalicious5646 2 ай бұрын
@@richardginste4399 no that's just your argument because you know full well that what I was saying was true. If other people live their life by needlessly exploiting, harming and murdering living sentient beings and I don't do that then I have every right to speak up for these innocent beings who have no voice. I used to live that way but I woke up and made the connection which you haven't done obviously or you would have understood the truth in my words. I am 70 and I am vegan and I am totally healthy. Oh and yes I am very proud of how far I have come in this journey.

All my organs function beautifully. I notice cartilage loss in knees and left hip that limits my walking to 2 miles a day. I am formally educated in the hard sciences. I grew up on a farm and learned first hand about NOT EATING processed food. Avoid restaurant foods like poison. My father in law is 105yo. He played tennis for 80 years but quit at 92yo because he couldn’t keep up with the younger guys (30-60yo). He looks like president Raegan when Raegan retired but with full head of white hair. I TURNED 80, yesterday, and I have never had an operation, still have all my teeth, still have 20-20 vision, im not fat and excercise, but above all this Im very happy as I know where Im going when I die, as a Born again christian, as I have total lack of fear because of that makes me full of joy...my doctor says I should live to be 90, with no problem, but that is not important as living eterinaly in Paradise With God, the Father, The son, and the Holy Spirit..

As I was approaching 70 a few years ago, my health was quickly going down hill. I made a few priority changes which have helped to restored my health. These were: becoming alcohol free, becoming coffee free, cutting way down on fruit serving sizes to avoid high blood glucose spikes, intermittent fasting most days. I still have a few changes that I know I need to add to the list. However, the ones listed not only helped me to address some serious health challenges, but also improved my health. Now at 72. I look forward to at least the next 10 years.

I respect your comments and wisdom but stop pushing for people to live to the age of 100years old...it is no picnic ,. Even if you family support .little life is better than no life, is bs if u suffering...i am 84 years old and i am traveling in Asia alone. I am cancer survivor and have medical challenges but i had it all and i lived a dream life ...i am ready for what comes next and i enough is enough...if you didn't enjoy your life when you were younger, that is your loss,you can never make it up... Old people are ticking bombs if they don't have things just the way they want them and they are no fun to be around ... Further more, some old people are a burden and they live a life of pain and pills. Life without quality is no life and to merely exist is meaningless... Enjoy your life to the fullest and let go when time comes knocking, says the voice of wisdom.
