I am 85 yrs. Old and have done everything you recommend. It really works, especially being grateful is very important as we get older, do not take anything for granted. I am recuperating from the death of my husband of 56 years, it has been very painful but by God’s grace, lots of prayer and an incredible support from my family and friend I am on my way to create a new chapter in my life as a single person again. Thanks for your inspiring advice.

I am 83 years old and am learning to live alone after my husband of 61 years had passed on. I live in gratitude to him for empowering me in every way he could to prepare me to live alone, without leaning too heavily on my children. Living alone, enjoying my hobbies, interacting with people is what I find very fulfilling. Also nice is being wanted by my children, because they know I will not live with them for too long, nor will I be a burden to them, even if, eventually I fall ill, I am provided for till the end. That gives me immense peace and satisfaction.

Fortunate to live in a cottage in my daughter’s back yard. Handle my finances, very interested in politics. I am a quilter.

At 77, I did hang up my motorcycle helmet on the advice of my doctor….to get around now I drive a 2019 mini JCW 6-spd manual and I just love it…recently the mini dealership encouraged me to buy a new 300hp+model, but I told them that my 270hp+model was plenty for me…I do sometimes miss my Indian motorcycle but my reflexes aren’t what they used to be…

I applaud you, you embrace life and stay positive. I imagine you have a sense of humour, it definitely helps! In my seventies, ten years ago, I studied with the OU and managed a BA and Masters degree, online, in creative writing. Enjoyed every minute of it. However, I am a lifetime hypochondriac and each day am literally a new pain! My family just ignore my woes, and sigh! My cooking skills are poor but I somehow manage at least two home cooked meals, no convenience foods. I think personally that curiosity in life should never stop. If we lived to be a million, we would never know a fraction of how the world ticks. Best wishes😅

I am nearing my seventyfifth birthday, keeping average health and carrying on with many activities as I was doing all these years. I also eat whatever i was eating but in lesser quantities. I still ride my bike and love to go fast. Thriller movies still fascinate me and I love reading pot boilers. My wife, almost my age, is not keeping good health but I try always to get her back to the good old days. 9.

Today Sept.1 I will have a slice of my birthday cake that says "Happy 41" I was born in 1953-- It's important to THINK "young", and reinforce that. I run up and down stairs, take no medications, walk on average 4 miles per day,( except when doing longer 10 mile walks,) and feel EXACTLY, and I mean EXACTLY like 35 😊

Complexity of old age very well elaborated.Unfortunately I can't follow all the things you have mentioned because for one thing I am 84.years of age.Secondly long standing RA as well as some incurable health problems means pains and and pains day and night. Thirdly life partner and some true friends all are no more now. I am trying to feel aloneness, avoiding loneliness. I am able to do all my routine and some walking and exercises as well.

I am on the way to being an 88 year old widow for 13 years now. I live in our home of sixty years. I never knew I could get on by myself all this time. I have a wonderful family that is very supportive to me. I don’t pester them but I do ask for help when I really need it. I belong to a health club , a book club and am thoroughly committed to my church. I thank God every day for another day. I am a very fortunate woman.
