@@unknown-bx8my I probably went about things the wrong way, and maybe took longer...but I started to take things apart and look inside at the components. I learned what they were and how to test them. A digital multimeter is an absolute MUST. Looking back, I wasn't very safe in the early days, but after learning how to measure voltages, I then learned how to safely test components and look for problems. Don't expect to learn everything overnight. There are absolute masters in electronics who I can only dream of being like one day. But every single person interested in electronics was at the same starting point as you one day. Don't give up, be safe and always ask before doing something you are not sure about.

I guess a replacement motherboard would be the best option but it would be really expensive I imagine. I had one similar. The customer changed the screen without unplugging the battery and it ended up like this.

Why would the motherboard need a new bios if you were to swap the Cpu with a new but identical one of the same model? Was the bios already bricked from a failed update when you got it?

sure, coils are the out of power suply, when they are next to 2 fets and a chip. sometimes on new generation laptops there is only a chip and coil, fets are intigrated in the chip. can provide you a good book to learn about this.

@technical5880 I'm clued up on most of what you're saying. I just wanted to know if that power supply/inductor was the power supply for the chipset. If so that would explain the 0ohms since the chipset is shorted.

No. You still won’t have a new cpu from a distributor as intel only sells to manufacturers. BGA Soldering may be a problem for you but not sorin.

Even if you can buy the cpu from Intel like warranty repair centers can, most of the time you're not gonna solder it on properly because of how hard the 11, 12 and 13th gen mobile CPUs are to solder, on ROHS (lead free) balls no less.

It's a common foult in every laptop were the pch or ec chip gets faulty and short to +3.3v LDO. The +3.3v driver will always be fine the problem is pch or ec chip when the driver gets hot Any way if u like my comment like me sorin😊
