Someone on a thread also said to put some delectric grease on the female plug housing where it mates with the other plug that helps a lot of sand it down

I take the bullets out of the plastic to put on the esc and make a link wire one end red heat shrink one end black, just have to be more careful when plugging in, also can get the fit of the bullets to be tight as no plastic to get in the way

I have used my thumbs ever since I had the qs8 connectors. What I didn't realize or think of is that one side could be loose. I'll be checking mine. Thanks. Hope you don't mind if I share this on facebook.

No problem. Share it wherever you like. I made this video after watching everyone struggle (including myself) using these connectors. They are definitely a good connector to use, just have to adjust it and learn how to use it properly.

Man i just got 90% of my batteries to match all my RC’s esc’s with IC5’s …so do you recommend the Q’s are they compatible to anything other plug? Like the EC5 are compatible with the IC5’s… 🤔 looking for an opinion thanks 😉👍🏽💯 great video brother

That I know of, they don’t mate to other connectors. I use them because of the amp draw on my 12s toys. Unless you are pulling a lot of amps, they are not really needed

These connectors actually suck. The anti-spark resistor burns up and stops working after a couple hundred connections. At 5 bucks per connector, they aren't really worth it.

What would you recommend that’s better? QS8 (and QS10) connectors are the best in the business. Maybe you should try real OG QS8s sold by Offshore Electronics or Perfect Pass. The others are all cheap copies and probably not made to the same standards. I’ve never burned out a QS8 and have been running them since you could only get them from Offshore Electronics and nobody had heard of them except boat guys. I challenge you to name a better connector. If Castle Creations recommends them by name even though they make their own 8mm connectors you know they must be good. Stop buying the cheapest stuff and try buying the best stuff, especially connectors, wires, and LiPos but also ESCs (250a from one company is not the same as 250a from all companies), carbon fiber (cheap carbon fiber is up to twice as heavy as the good stuff), aluminum parts (are they 7075 or much cheaper, weaker, and heavier 6061 or lesser quality). This is an expensive hobby and it’s natural to look for good prices but don’t buy low quality parts because they are cheap. This is especially true with connectors. $10 or even $20 a pair is nothing when it is something so important. They connect two of the most expensive, delicate, and important parts of any RC, the LiPos and the ESC. A loose connector (or bad solder job) can fry an ESC super quick. A poor quality or undersized connector or wires can limit power or overheat and melt the solder holding it on causing a loss of power, fried ESC, or even a LiPo fire. I don’t see how you can complain about $5 for a connector when just a single battery can be over $100.

LOL, after a couple hundred connections??? LiPos are not even good for a couple hundred charges before they seriously start to have high internal resistance and lower capacity. Anything you can use a couple hundred times before it fails in some way is good quality besides the simplest of tools like a hammer or a fork.) How many uses does a 2mm hex driver have in it before it starts to round off causing stripped screws? How many times can you wear a pair of shoes, or any article of clothing before it wears out? How many times can you use a knife before you have to sharpen it? Hell, you can’t even use a real car 200 times without maintenance, if not replacing parts. How many runs have you made on your RC cars before having to fix them? I bet you haven’t even run one of your RCs a couple hundred times. That like running it for two charges EVERY weekend for two years. If you think saving $10 for that much use is too much you are in the wrong hobby my man.

DO NOT do what this video is demonstrating!!! go to a electronics store and buy contact cleaner /lubricant. And use Q-tips with contact cleaner on the female inside barrels this will clean and lubricate in the plug and the qs8 will plug& unplug very easily if you pry the male prongs open you will break the brass prongs of the plug. there are various manufacturers of high-grade cleaner /lubricants on the market..
