Well yeah, that's how I proposed to my wife. I got down on one knee, held out an engagement ring with one hand, and a blowtorch with the other. She chose the ring and we've been happily married ever since. Well, I think she's happy. She's become very quiet and withdrawn, and tends to cower and hide a lot. But I always offer her the option of changing her mind and picking the blowtorch instead, and she never does. So that means she's happy and we have a healthy relationship. ... that's how relationships work for everyone else, right?
@joevollbach40999 ай бұрын
I know exactly how to fix her withdrawing. You have to ensure that she constantly wants to be closer to you and understand you. The worth and dignity of a soul is measured by what it delights in! And delight/happiness is our highest desire. Men have killed to have it. Kings have gone mad trying to find it. Wars have served it. Affairs have worshiped it. We all seek it. Sadly, billions have died without discovering its secret... namely, that joy is not an it, but a He. The Gospel is the good news that sinners can delight in a Holy God. It's the good news that all of our deepest desires are satisfied in the ONE who sent His Son to bring us to Him. . God is so valuable and so satisfying that the most loving thing he could do for us is to make Himself gloriously indispensable. He is the only being in the universe for whom self-exaltation is the highest virtue. Therefore, God's commitment to be glorified and our goal to be satisfied are not at odds but come to simultaneous consummation in the worship of His Son... who took upon Himself the Wrath that God had towards us in our sinful disregard of Him. A wrath that could never be appeased through man-made religion. Jesus didn't die to turn the world into a paradise, he died so that we could stop seeking paradise in the world... Temporal things such as beauty, popularity, money, sex, racial identity, gender reassignment... can never truly satisfy. BECAUSE WE WERE MADE FOR SO MUCH MORE! We were made to gaze intently into the Eternal Beauty of a majestic King, Father, and God... meet Jesus the Christ. Life is hard, God is good, Glory is coming 😊... (the chrstian idea of god i agree that these ideas are possible, as they understand god as having humanlike attributes) please for your own sake listen to the first lecture i gave on this topic and why God created the world, and you may start to see you have been lied to, or at least see that things are not that simple. Or just make a joke to deflect any possibility of taking your life seriously, at your own risk though.

@darrylvaillancourt6144 Very very confused with that statement. Im not sure how the 2 halves of the statement go together. But assuming i am getting the jist of your statment, the jewish position, is that God is directly accessible at all times in all places by everyone, jewish or non-jewish. This is clear from many places in the tanach (old testament as it is commonly called). I am not sure what you are trying to say in the jesus half of the statement so apologies for that. I have a lecture about prayer by the way which might make it clearer where i am coming from as the orthodox jewish position, which i have come to understand is hardly ever described in the public forum.

Sin (lying, unforgiveness, sexual sins from lust, dishonouring parents, steeling, taking the Lord’s Name in vain etc) which leads to hell. But Jesus died on the Cross and rose from the dead to give you the ability to repent and Believe in Him as your Lord and Saviour to go to Heaven. Reminds me of the conversation that made me second guess and eventually leave Islam. So much of Islamic teaching tells that Allah is this Omnipotent, universal, perfect god. I asked why art is forbidden in Islam, and I was told that Allah doesn't like it when his creations try to emulate him. We were created to be Allahs slaves in heaven. This is why Islam means submission. I asked why Allah needs Slaves if Allah is perfect. No answer but the conversation was sidetracked to. Allah created us and that's why we must fear and obey Allah. I kept repeating, why does God need Slaves? Then it hit me. If Allah needed slaves, he has the angels. Why make us in the first place? I was then told the dumbest thing I have ever heard from any religious person in my entire life. They said... Allah made the angels without free will, but it wasn't enough. So Allah gave mankind freewill as a test, so when we choose to be his slaves. it would matter that much more. I backed away for a bit and though for a wile. When I left Islam That friend pleaded for me to come back. He asked me why I am throwing my life away. I told him I will not warship a god that sees me as a tool. That wants me to live in fear. That ""friend messaged me saying that if he could have gotten away with it, he would have killed me right then and there. If only to save me. Allah is so mighty, that he needs his worshippers to smite his Unbelievers. Now who is diminishing the power of Allah.

The animals would have solicitors and would be charged for crimes. They excecuted animals found guilty by hanging or crucifying them or flogging them they served insects with eviction notices etc. The bible was the product of people not understanding the world and their efforts to make sense of it. There's a lore reason for that. The dude in white there is literally Yahweh. Literally god. He takes on the form of an old dude cause he thinks he'll be respected like that but in reality he's a loser and a teenage narcissist and psychopath. He's inside a simulation where he's given infinite power to see how he'd act and see if he'd be a good leader for humanity. The therapist is actually Jeffrey, yes the baby angel guy. They're the same person. Jeffrey is Yahweh's teacher and he oversees the simulation. That's why Jeffrey (the baby dude) always keeps trying to steer god to the oath or righteousness and tries to make him use his brain for at least one second. He changes form so that he teenager dude doesn't recognize him as his teacher and doesn't remember he's in a simulation, otherwise he'd change his behaviour to appear like a good guy and "pass the exam" so to speak. Technically speaking the teacher dude (the baby angel) has more power in the simulation and can, at any moment remove Yahweh's powers, but since Yahweh is an evil psychopath he wants him to fail the exam. Also they're technically locked in the simulation due to a glitch to they'd still have to spend what felt like an eternity there, most likely clashing and fighting for power. The story gets way way darker but you'd have to watch the series to know how it continues.

@@Cashboys no way, then im in debt. id rather take personal responsibility considering i already know im innocent. so if the sin is existing, i blame the creator for allowing me to exist. otherwise they can send me to hell because i didn't do anything wrong and will never accept that i have sin in any way. im good to my core, and i dont seek salvation, especially not at the expense of someone also pure and willing to sacrifice themselves. i would rather sacrifice myself for Jesus, that makes way more sense if all this was even real.

People often say, “I’m not hurting anyone so it’s ok to sin (lying, stealing, sexual sins, disrespecting parents etc)” The same God who said to love your neighbour first said to love Him to the best of your ability. If you carry on sinning, then you do not love God but are selfish like the devil so you will be joined to your father in hell or repent of your sins and believe in Jesus as God so Jesus adopts you as His child and you will join Him in Heaven forever.

@@LisaAnn777 GOD ENCOURAGES KILLING, ALSO KIDS AND ANIMALS? God is an advocate for improving one’s life not killing it. When you read of killing in the Bible that is the last thing God had in mind. God doesn’t create people to immediately destroy them but rather is slow to anger. When humans refuse to change and are only getting more and more wicked God takes them out in love because their punishment in Hell will only get worse the longer they live. God is a long term thinker; Kids that die go straight to heaven but had they grown up in a bad environment a very small % would go to heaven. God also cares about animals as shown in many Bible References (But animals don’t get saved like we do, Humans are greater than animals) Jonah 4:11 : And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left-and much livestock?”

You sound positively childish. If you want people to actually believe you then you need to start providing credible, testable, verifiable evidence for the existence of your god, and by extension the existence of hell since that's part of your claim. If your god wants all of humanity to know she/he/it/they (or SHIT for short) exists and wants a relationship with us and that is the most important message in the universe for us to know then SHIT better get to work showing us that evidence by actually interacting with the reality that we are experiencing in our lives.

Oddly enough, when I became an atheist, I didn't even consider that the concept of the atonement might have a few problems with it. I was more concerned with "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence." If I'd seen a video like this back when I was a teenage Christian, maybe it wouldn't have taken me almost 30 years to figure out that Christianity didn't make any sense. Childhood indoctrination has an amazing capacity to make a person believe things that are utterly ridiculous.

Just for debate purpose. 1) if god is Omnipotent why can he not forgive. Because substitution is NOT forgiveness. 2) why is it called “the Gospel “ because Gospel means good news. How is it “good news “ that almost every single person who has ever lived is burned for eternity. 3)How can a perfect eternal being whose will is ALWAYS perfect will his own frustration?
