Once again, Justin shows us why he is the best!! This is pure perfection in every way. Justin’s ear for picking out every subtlety in Keith Richards’ playing is incredible, especially with two Keith tracks. Then, with Justin’s guitar virtuosity, he plays every riff perfectly. As always, the lighting, guitar position, relative volume of the original tracks and Justin’s are all perfect.

Great job Justin! Can you tell me about the guitar you used in this video? What series telecaster did you use and the neck pick-up? Is it a neck pick-up turned around or is it a real bridge pick-up? And what brand of humbucker is it?

Thanks a lot, GB, I'm glad you liked it! ! On the bridge I used the Fender Telecaster reissue '52 stock pickup, and on the neck I used a Gibson humbucker bridge pickup from an old Les Paul.

My Tele's schematic is different than the modern ones, and I think it is what Keith did in his Micawber (Broadcaster with blend schematics). This way, instead of using the lower potentiometer for tone, I use it to gradually blend the neck pickup to the bridge pickup.

A book mistook Mick playing the rhythm on this track, but i believe its keith right?

I also read in the book "Roling Sones Gerar" that Mick Jagger played rhythm in this song, and I don't know where the author got this information from. Maybe Mick played only as a guideline, who knows... Anyway, in the final version it was definitely Keith who played the rhythm guitars.

I'm glad you liked my videos, sjirk! My Tele's schematic is different than the modern ones, and I think it is what Keith did in his Micawber (Broadcaster with blend schematics). This way, instead of using the lower knob for tone, it is used to blend the neck pickup to the bridge pickup. Instead of using the capacitor of the tone potentiometer (as is normally done in Teles), I use the potentiometer to gradually add the neck pickup, and with that, I add the low end.

Thank you so much for your reply. I was aware of the blend broadcaster wiring and i really wanted to hear youre opinion on this since you are such a keith fanatic (like me! :p) i might also try this wiring. Since we are talking... at the bridges to babylon live dvd @ lets spend the night together he has i think the bridge pickup with a very little blend of the neck. It is a sublime tone i think. What surprised me os that he is not using micawber there but the other guitar wich i dont remember the name of. That guitar has a bit more top end sparkle wich i really dig over the micawber to be honest.

You're welcome, @@sjirk! The guitar Keith uses in this song is the one he calls “Malcom”, a ‘54 Tele with the finish stripped down. As you said, this guitar is a bit louder and brighter that Micawber, great sound!

Yes, @@jaapjandeback5809 Keith used open G on this song live too. On the 1975/1976 (Love You Live) tour he used the Zemaitis “Macabre" guitar, and on the 2002/2003 (Licks) tour, the Telecaster "Malcom".

@@Justincelos Pretty cool, thanks! I use Power Director 15, but I can apply the concepts to that. This made me take a look at Vegas Pro, which I've heard about but never checked out. It's pretty heavy duty! I didn't put up any video for Nobody's Fault But Mine, so I checked it out. Apparently, CD Baby put that up (without my knowledge). I don't get it. WHY would they put it up, and turn off comments!?! I'm going to do a live chat right after I post this and find out. Thanks for letting me know about it!
