Slavin doesn't have a great shot, but he did great in the skills competition on stationary targets without obstruction. What he is referring to, is while playing in games. He currently has a 3.8% shot percentage, one of if not the lowest goals scored per shot in the NHL amongst the all-stars. Talented player, not so much at scoring in actual games.

The only reason his speed is so "important" is that he's got the hands/skill to finish. Plenty of fast guys running around that don't have the ability to finish. Speed doesn't kill unless it's with something else.

I would say that they forgot maybe the best the NHL have seen ... Pavel Davtsuk (sorry for misspelling?). And when it comes to speed .. Mc David is not that impressive if you really look at it .. he's not the fastest in NHL and he's a bit too big and heavy to move gracefully. I mean, a Bugatti Veyron is pretty fast .. when it gets up to speed, but it can't really stop or manouver as good as other smaller supercars. So Ovi has a point ... speed is nothing if it doesn't come with control and agility.
