Doing great my friend, staying inside where it's warm, gotta lot of snow on the ground ..lol Hope you're doing well how's the weather treating you kind sir..

Love it. I usually cut half or 3/4 through and roll log but this will save a lot of time If the log is on the ground. With a stack of logs that you are bucking, maybe not so handy since you can usually cut them as they lay.
@GoodDayFarm6 жыл бұрын
You are correct, not really practical for a stack of logs. It does work well for single logs though.

looks like a nice design. I have a tool very similar but it only has one leg on the bottom instead of two. That one looks more stable.
@GoodDayFarm7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, this one is pretty solid and stable. Great for holding logs. Thanks for watching, take care and have a Good Day!

I was planning on making a log jack but when I saw the prices on these woodchuck tools, I couldn't pass it up! Love the quality too, very heavy gauge steel. Well built product!
@GoodDayFarm6 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I’m sure it’ll last my lifetime. Thanks for watching!
@drawbridge6114 жыл бұрын
Just used mine for the first time today. Extremely high quality and built like a tank. No way I could bend or break it even if I tried. Just watch out for the bottom foot when you're cutting close to the tool because it's wider than the top one. (Don't want to come down on that with your chain.) Thank you for the great review.

Awesome! It is well built, and a very handy tool. Thanks for watching!

Travis, can you review grasshoppers that lift and pull the wood out of the trees. At least that is what a construction guys calls those things. Some people pull them out with tractors. Others use makeshift carts but the grasshoppers are the coolest thing I have seen for moving whole logs.

If I had one, I sure would review it ! They do look handy.

I have the Stihl (Logrite) cant hook with jack. The other 2 I was going to buy was the Log Ox or this Woodchuck. I mainly bought the Stihl because I could drive 5 min to my local Stihl shop and just buy one and not have to deal with ordering and paying shipping or anything. The cant hook is $124 and I think the jack is $39. Same prices as the Logrite which is the same tool that is who makes them just its blue not orange. The handle is aluminum. Can get it as a peavey or with the hook. I still might buy one of the other 2 as well but I am happy with what I bought so far. Looks good with my Stihl saws too.
@GoodDayFarm5 жыл бұрын
Nice! I’ve looked at the Stihl cant hook. Might get one someday.
@HartzHomestead5 жыл бұрын
Nice idea. I have a peavey, but holding it off the ground is clever. The link in your description doesn't go to that item, but I searched around their site and found it under Saws and Tools/Log Handling. I'll look at your other videos. You might like mine on the small wood cutting rack I built.
@GoodDayFarm5 жыл бұрын
Oh, I’ll take a look at the link, thanks. I’ll also take a look at your channel! Thanks for watching, thanks for the comment. Take care!

If you have a cant, you actually don't need a timber jack. You could accomplish the same results as a timber jack, by placing a short length of a small diameter (about 4") log perpendicular to the log that you're rolling. and then use the cant to roll the log which you want to cut onto the small diamer log.
@GoodDayFarm6 жыл бұрын
True, that would work. But so would using this. 👍
@Daddyoftam4 жыл бұрын
I'm torn between the Timber Pro and the Dual Pro. 10 dollar difference, but the Dual Pro comes with a retractable Peavy for the second jack. Also can roll another 5-30 inch diameter, where the Timber Pro can roll 5-20 inch.

I hear ya... I went with the one I got nails to hold logs up while bucking them, it works great for that. Any bigger logs, I would try to raise to cut up...

Good video... Nice tool and no one can say crap about your chain sharpening abilities. That cherry wood didn't have a chance!
@GoodDayFarm6 жыл бұрын
Richard Federico , thanks! As for the chain sharpening, that was a Stihl RSL chain... square filed, rakers set at .035. Saw is a ported and decked MS461 That combo will cut some wood.. 👍 Thanks for watching, and thank you for the comment, I really appreciate but. Take care.

Hey Travis, great to see you back in action. I rang the notification bell, so hopefully I won't be so late to the party next time! Those are a handy tool indeed. I'd say you represented it quite well. I wish I were responsible enough to own one. I have an old home-made one that I lost track of in the woods a couple of years ago... Fortunately for me, it re-surfaced this past fall! Have a Blessed new Year!

Hey Tedd! How have you been? I’m trying to get back into the video making, but I’m so short on time. To be honest, I’m surprised I haven’t lost any of my saw related tools! Lol! Thanks for watching, thanks for the kind words. Take care and have a Good Day!

The family and I are striving, truly blessed indeed! I get the time thing. I'm contemplating getting an app or software to edit phone videos. I posted one to thank Joel and haven't really had the opportunity to do more. I guess I've had the option, I just want to crop out big sections of yawn time from project videos. Is there anything you would recommend? I see where it would be hard to find the time. Thank You for the energy and the commitment to get back in the saddle. Great to see you. Be Blessed!

IThat is great, glad you all are doing well! f you're strictly using your phone, unfortunately I do not know any editing apps for that. I film with my phone, but edit on the computer. Im sure there are some apps out there, depending on the make of your phone. They might not be free, but usually the better apps aren't.
