this is the good form of body acceptance and positivity. you actually accept yourself for what you really are instead of needing to change it just for physical beauty.

I feel this 100%!!! I’m glad I came across this video. I was getting braids often and then I got tired and decided to put a wig on. After like 3 days of having it on, it was so irritating! I just took it off with no plan of what to do with my hair and wore an afro, ever since doing so, I feel freedom I’ve never felt before.

Feeling good just as you are is priceless!! Many years ago I had really bad skin and I felt I could only leave the house with makeup, but it looked bad either way because I'm neither talented nor patient with doing makeup. All I wanted to do is to leave the house in the morning without all this work. So I decided to get over my insecurity and leave my skin alone. After I got used to it it felt so good to not worry. And after some more time, my skin started to get better. It's still not perfect but I feel good without covering up and that is just so liberating! Thank you for sharing your experience!

never did acrylic nails..I found them horrible, no matter the design. Never did brows, except plucking. ..People , especially women, waste too much time of their lives trying to fit in someone else's image , waste too much time for looks, appearance and we do not get it, at that time. Till mid 30s , I was not going out without make up. After that, learned to take even better care of my skin , than to wearing masks to cover imperfections. With the age are coming wrinkles, but also a maturity which I thought I had before.. Mid 30s are the starting point.. Even if more money,than in your youth, stability, you have more experience, I know what I want..the goal is to be happy, healthy , seek comfort , avoid useless things, unnecessary ..ignore opinions.

I started getting my eyebrows threaded at least twice a month starting at age 14. I look back and realize how young that was, but I did it with my own money. My whole face truly did look better after getting them done. In 2020 the now wealthy and older lady who did my eyebrows retired and I realized after all the years of getting my eyebrows done, it didn’t look bad naturally and so I’ve just kept it natural. Although, after years of having it cultivated into the correct shape, a natural looking shape, it looks good because I spent years working to get it looking this good now. My eyebrows used to need the help, but they don’t anymore. If my lady came out of retirement I don’t think I would go back to it. I don’t even think I would do it if someone paid me to get my eyebrows done every 7 to 14 days. I don’t regret getting my eyebrows done, but I’m loving that I only need to spend up to a minute every 3 months doing maintenance now “if” a hair grows in an off area.

It's interesting because the nails thing has been the opposite for me. I've always done my own nails apart from an occasional special occasion. My natural nails are terrible. They split and peel and take so much time to maintain on my own. I was constantly having to file down a broken nail or paint my nails with hardening stuff, etc. I hate spending money on myself, but I recently started getting my nails done every month, and for me it actually saves me so much time! And it makes me so thankful that my husband wants me to do this for myself. He encourages me to do it because I'm so frugal and rarely do anything like this for myself😂. I also struggle with social anxiety and the Lord is helping me to face this instead of avoiding it. So having positive interactions with people is extremely helpful to teach your body not to switch on the sympathetic nervous system just because you're talking to someone you don't know well. It just helps me to go get them done and then I don't have to worry about them for 3-4 weeks. I thank the Lord all the time for giving me the ability to do this. It is such a blessing to me. It's just so funny how the Lord can use something like this in completely opposite ways.

@@rosaleaschwenke770I don't think it's the feminine aspect at all. Aspect and the recent uptick in modesty amongst women which is concerning for some feminist because it seems almost like jumping backwards in some aspects. If you don't balance it into your life. But that's what a lot of people will fail to see in her videos is that she isn't just pushing a modest lifestyle she's just saying how modestly dressing is a byproduct of her changing her lifestyle

@rosaleaschwenke770 I agree and I think it goes both ways. You'll always get comments from people of each viewpoint how they don't like that kind of lifestyle and occasionally make rude comments. I've seen it on both the more feminine videos and the lesser feminine videos. While I'm all for freedom of speech and people giving their opinions, we need to realize that we'll watch videos that speak to us and ones that will strike a wrong cord with us. And that neither videos are typically "wrong" in any way, they are just different. And that's okay.

I started coloring my hair at age 14, and did so pretty religiously (all different colors) for about 10 years! One day I got tired of it and decided I needed to grow out my hair so it could be healthy again. I started getting gray hairs at 24, and now at 28, my hair is entirely dye free and the gray streak gets stronger and more noticeable every day 💪🏻 There's something quite empowering about gently embracing aging without letting yourself go.

My experience as well. As you grow closer to the Lord, little by little He molds you into the woman that He designed you to be. For me that meant minimal makeup (only foundation), no longer straightening my naturally curly hair and curating a wardrobe consisting of modest skirts and dresses.

I just love what God is doing in your life and through you. A few years ago is when I found your channel and since then, you’ve been my mentor ❤ so all of this simplifying that you’ve done has also been encouraging me to do the same.

The same thing happened to me, i stopped dying my hair last year, because of how damaged it was. Then i stopped getting my nails done, i simplified my makeup. Now I'm on a journey to a healthier me, I chose wisely what i eat and what i put inside me, i pray almost everyday and i am dressing more feminine. Thank you Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ praise him ❤️

I admire and respect Milena but I just want to put out there that you can be a godly woman without cutting out getting your nails or hair done or wearing makeup if that makes you feel confident. And there is nothing wrong with wearing pants and not wearing only dresses.

this!! nothing against her transformation but it hurts to see other women tearing down those of us who care about makeup and self care. my relationship with God has actually gotten stronger the more confident i've become

@lisa-amara but the challenge here is, are you relying on worldly things to feel confident? Or what God has given you?
@AndreaGarcia-ww4wc
@AndreaGarcia-ww4wc 9 ай бұрын
@@saltandsrirachaI think you can rely on God for confidence and also gravitate towards certain things that you find beautiful. David didn’t have to wear a crown made of gold and precious jewels to know that God was the one to make him a king and to know to give thanks to God for the crown he had, but at the end of the day he did wear a crown. Also, where in the Bible does it say anything about women only wearing dresses? That’s not biblical. Men didn’t even wear pants when it was written, they wore robes. Two things can be true at once. You can like the color blue enough to put it on your nails or eye lids without getting your worth or validation from it. It’s not always that deep, and I think it depends on the individual’s relationship with God so people need to be more careful about being so quick to jump to “correction”.

I'm glad you feel more like yourself. You old style wasn't wrong or bad you just changed or your preferences changed and you were able to discover a new version of yourself. I'm glad you feel great in your skin. Everyone should feel that way. Wearing jeans or skirts, using filler or not, etc, etc, everyone should get to feel good about themselves.

Last year I finally took out all of my piercings except for my main ones, the ones I’ve had since I was a baby. I really felt the Lord just asking me why I needed to be so heavily adorned with jewelry, and seriously I’ve felt so much more beautiful and simple without all my extra piercings. Obviously this isn’t a conviction for everyone but specifically something I felt and it just reminded me of this video and living out a more simplified life.
