Oh I have one of these and I'm so f***ing proud. I have a math disability (among many others) and as a 16yo despite my dyscalculia and the schools IEP I still had to pass algebra. It was obviously alot of deliberate effort to try and pass on my part and I did everything your supposed to do. I got a tutor, I went to get help from the resource room when I didn't understand somthing, I did all the math homework even though it took me hours to come to answers that was even close to correct (no calculator alowed and i had to show my work). My algebra teacher didn't care about my effort he considered me a nuisance and a lost cause. When I asked questions in class he was fond of saying "Put your hand down, I'm going to spend my time on students who have a chance at passing". As you might imagine this pissed me off. All that effort felt wasted. So I decided I was going to ask questions whether he called on me or not. He tried to ignore me but I relentlessly asked my questions until they were answered or I was given detention. I served alot of detention. One of my accommodations was a tape recorder for certain classes that weren't math. So I managed to get the tape recorder to where it was in the pocket of of my backpack but still able to clearly record (both the tape and recorder are long consigned to the landfill) and I recorded him in class. That's where this conversation comes in. (I was 16yo at the time I am now 32yo so this isn't exact) Me: whats the purpose of -thing I don't remember- Him: stop. M: please answer my question. H: no M: why? H: because your an absolutely worthless idiot who will make my morning coffee in a few years. If you dont like it you can leave. M: -stands up- OK. H: exuse me? Me: I'm leaving. I was expecting that it would just be me leaving but as I grabbed my stuff 30 students (in a class of 37 ppl) stood up, grabbed thier things and walked out with me. I didn't know most of them particularly well but apperently the math teacher picked on 1 or 2 students like this per class period and none of the other students were happy about his narcissistic holier than thou additude tword thier friends but nobody could convince the administration this was happening and needed to be fixed. I showex them my tape recorder and told them we had proof now. In the end he was fired and barred from teaching and to this day I don't feel bad. The cherry on the story is that I met him again when I was 25. He was a Starbucks barista and he in fact had to make my morning coffee for me.

When I was young, I had a therapist who was really incompetent (she would forget from one appointment to the next what she had suggested I try; referred me for a prescription she knew I couldn't medically get, then said I was in denial, etc.). So I was in a session with her and we heard a door slam - another client had quit an appointment with their therapist, and we saw them walking down the sidewalk a minute later. Eventually I said "This isn't helping, I'm not getting any better" etc. so she decided to double down - "Well, you could go storming out like (other client)! You could leave!"...so I did. It felt awesome. I went down the stairs and out to my car with her literally running after me - "I need you to stay!" I should have backed over her foot.

I hear horror stories about therapists. There's one where I live, but it's a small town. I was considering going to him because I have some things weighing me down. But one day I was out at a restaurant, and was seated across from his table. He was, in full volume, not even trying to be quiet, talking about his clients and their issues and mocking the things they said. Mind you, this is a small town. Word gets around fast, often exaggerated. And they're a very... Simple minded group, largely. Very anti-anything other than white heterosexuals. Lot of them drink more liquor than they do anything else combined. They're not the sort to let things be. They love a good gossip... Going to this therapist would have been a social suicide. It was disgusting to listen to him talk to his friend.

I’ve had a similar experience when I worked at a grocery store. The manager was incompetent and expected me to work like I’ve done it since birth, even though I’d been there a week. When I brought this up with him on the fifth day, (a Friday), he said those famous last words, and I just walked out right then and there. I’ve refused to ever visit that store as long as I live. My dad was equally pissed at the manager and chewed him out by phone later that day. Now, I’m fixing airplanes and having the time of my life.

My ex husband kept going out all night drinking with guys that were under the legal drinking age of 21...I told my husband that I feared losing the kids over his activities. He scoffed at my fears and said if you don't like it you can pack up and leave...so that's exactally what I did...my parents came to get me and the children. My husband called me three weeks later saying okay, okay...you win, come back home. I told him that I was never coming back home...he thought this was all a joke. That was in 1987. My ex-boyfriend. We got in an argument a few weeks ago and he ghosted me for like 9 hours. I didn't know where he was,I had three panic attacks over a three day period and he totally bailed on me. When he finally got ahold of me,at 3 a.m.,it was because he wanted sex and he told me,"Take your clothes off now.",I said,"No." ,he repeated it,and I said,"Nope." After a pretty awful argument he put me in a very dangerous situation and called me the next day. I was crying and told him I didn't appreciate being treated like trash and I loved him but this wasn't at all fair to me. He said,"Well,if you don't like it just leave me." So,it's been about 3 weeks now. I deleted him off my social media,blocked him,blocked his phone number,and a friend of his told me that he likes me and wants to get to know me better. I'm really enjoying getting to know the new guy. He's super sweet and nice. He doesn't yell at me. So far,so good.

I used to work for Walmart in the deli. One night, one of the managers came over and tried to pull my only other coworker just as we were starting the closing duties. I'd already been left by myself once before and I'd decided "no more" so after letting the manager know that I didn't want to be left by myself he completely disreguarded my concern that I wouldn't be able to clean everything and get the dishes done before the end of my shift I told him that if he pulled the other guy I'd leave. His response was "If you leave, don't bother coming back". So I left.

He said If I didnt like It I didnt have to work there , and I looked right at him and said on that note I am done here .. packed up my tool boxes and left . You know that particular episode on Roseanne? The one where Rosanne leads the gals in the factory out in a multiple quit? I did that. Worked the graveyard at a place that sounded a lot like Lenny's . Manager was a lecherous tyrant. Not enough people scheduled for a nightly rush. We were slammed and no one was happy . No one. Frustrated, I had a meltdown in the back. I couldn't take it anymore. Apperantly, I was the leader of a mass quit. Three waitstaff, a dishwasher, and me the table runner.. We all skipped out happily and never looked back. Best. Thing. I. Ever. Did.

Reminds me of (what I heard through the grapevine about) a time during final two years of highschool where, if I'm remembering this correctly, there was no geography lessons either because one day everyone got to fed up to show or (more likely imo?) because something triggered a walkout before that. Complaints were mostly about the teachers sexist treatment of her students and grading their opinions (aligning with hers) rather than their skills.

My supervisor told me that I wasn't allowed my morning breaks and if I didn't like it I should just go home. I handed her my bleep, got my jacket and went to clock out when she stopped me and told me that I can't leave. I told her that she said that I should go home if I didn't like not having morning breaks so I was going home. She gave me back my bleep and apologized for saying that and told me I could have a longer lunch. Like an idiot I took back my bleep and went back to work. But at the end of the day it backfired on both of us because I was out the rest of the week with gastroenteritis. Due to working 8 - 12 hour shifts a day for 12 days straight. Not too much later I came back covid positive so she had a field day trying to find cover for all the hours I work.
@Maximara
@Maximara 2 жыл бұрын
I doubt the gastroenteritis had anything to do with working 8 - 12 hour shifts a day for 12 days straight as that disease is caused by either eating something that didn't agree with you or a virus. I had 8 hour once in a while 16 hour shifts for nearly *2 months* because no one wanted or had the skills to work the graveyard/auditing shift. Made buckets of overtime.

@@iwannaeatfood6835 The last part is confusing. Are you saying you were an exempt class or you weren't and any extra money got eaten up by overtime? Because the second isn't true unless you were making boatloads of money as the extra money over the year kicked you into the next tax bracket.
@iwannaeatfood6835

@Maximara 2 жыл бұрын
@@iwannaeatfood6835 US does the same thing with FICA and income tax but it scales with paycheck pay. For example, if you has 20% taken out by taxes at x a month you would have 20% taken out of the 1.5 x per month. Also " *if you do get emergency taxed you’ll get it back.* " even if it is only when you file your return. In fact, I had a little extra taken out ($10) of my bimonthly paychecks as the formula the IRS was using at the time wasn't taking out enough so I wanted to make sure I didn't a 'January surprise' (ie had to pay more taxes).

I have the reverse of the education/job argument every single week with my case manager in therapy. I put on my goals list when I was still in highschool that education was really important to me. I graduated last year and she keeps pushing college like everybody in my family every time we talk. I barely managed to pass highschool, there's no fucking way I'll be able to pass a college course! I'm not as smart as everybody insists I am, I'm just clever. There's a difference. I can solve problems other people can't because I can think around it, work my way backwards, but I cannot for the life of me do the math required to give change to customers, which is why I work at up to date retail stores and not mom and pop shops with no modern technology. I cannot do math the way I need to be able to in my head, never have been, and instead of teaching me ways around it teachers and my mother would just repeat the question or problem with increasing anger. My mother would beat my ass if I tried to do it on the paper instead of in my head. I've slowly memorized certain number patterns at work, things that have to do with donations mainly, I can predict sometimes what number will pop up in the round up area based on what the coins in the total are, and I don't need to add or subtract anything to give you your change, I just count out how many of each thing I need to give you. Coins are easy, they're a constant rate. I can handle counting consistently. Ask me to do a math problem higher than single digits in my head and usually I can't. On equal side math problems I can go up to 15 and then the stuff that ends in 0. But if both sides are not equal, if the numbers you ask me to add together are different or if there's more than 2 numbers you want me to work with, my slope of capability quickly drops off. I cannot keep up with college, I know that, so I don't want to. I want to work
@gokuxsephiroth4505
@gokuxsephiroth4505 2 жыл бұрын
I mean, maybe you CAN do a college course if you choose the right one. I passed with first degree honors and I can't math to save my life. Like, you won't get into a STEM degree with no math skills, but I did Criminology ie, the study of crime and why it happens, and it was a ball. No math. Essays instead of exams. Psychology, Anthropology, Criminology, Sociology are all sciences with no math involved, and that's not even to mention all the creative or history based ones you could shoot for. Work if you want - nothing wrong with learning a trade (and let's be fair, in today's economy, you're gonna be financially better off than most grads by age 30) but I'm just saying that if your only problem getting into college is you can't math, then there are options open if you look it up.

Not really a leaving story, but... My class had a biology teacher who bullied the students the whole time and dropped comments like ,,brownies" on muslims in our class, when she was upset they talked in a group session, and set them apart. One day my bus was way to late, so I came to just grab for the door nob after it closed. After knocking she told me I had to stay there for the whole class and kept another student in the hallway. We left. As my class complained to our class teacher he said we should just stay silent, so that she didn't have to be scolded by her. My whole class ended up ignoring her for a whole class and she then turned to me because I normally was her joker for everything no one could answer. I kept my silence with everyone else so she went on the hallway crying and got comforted by another teacher who heared her crying.

(THIS WAS A TRUE STORY TOLD TO US). Professor: You can’t wear colorful accessories around here, you can’t use colorful bags, you should all have black and white accessories or bags, use plain looking accessories, if it’s still stylish, you’ll not be able to enter this university, wear clothes that hides your body, but if you naturally have bigger bubbies and curvier body that still makes you look sexy even if it’s all covered wear a baggier clothing that hides that shape, if your body is all flat and straight then you may wear the tighter clothes, no borrowing of books from the library, no makeup, no strong perfumes, no stretching unless you’re in the gym, If you don’t like this university’s rules then make your own university. Student- Left the university, went to a different country with a university with such better educational system and rules, SUCCEEDED AND IS NOW AN OWNER OF OUR UNIVERSITY WITH AN AMOUNT OF DECENT RULE THAT IS NO WHERE NEAR HER THE OLD UNIVERSITY SHE WENT TO. A LOT OF US SUCCEEDED IN HER UNIVERSITY.

That last one reminds me of the premiere episode of the show _Coupling_ , in which a guy is breaking up with his girlfriend and she says she doesn't accept. WTH say do you think you get in the matter?

I really don't get the ones who basically say "How DARE you have aspirations and responsibilities outside MY affairs?" It's just as irritating as the archetype of boss who can't understand how unreasonable they are being can't even begin to fathom when someone doesn't acquiesce to their pig-headed demands.

Can someone explain how to make these tts videos? I want to make thousands of them for everyone! These topics are my favorite but I can’t find one that I haven’t watched yet so I want to make lots for everyone so that there’s always one you haven’t seen yet:) I would love for someone to show me how! How to get the tts, What background music to use, how to slowly reveal the text as the voice reads it, the whole thing! Any advice will be amazing! Thank you, and I soon hope to make content for everyone to watch:)

KZbin doesn't monetize most of them anymore because they don't consider it original content since it's an AI creating them.

The warrior games one is completely tone perfect. I’m currently serving, and when I get out (and I say this constantly, not to show off but bc it’s something I really want) I am never going to shave my beard or cut my hair unless it to style my beard and deadlocks. And if someone who is in the military tries to challenge me on grooming standards best believe I’m telling them to go get ducked, I’m not in anymore and I am not subject to the UCMJ you have literally no power over me. That is to say the vast majority of enlisted wouldn’t bother, and only the weirdest people who are wildly overzealous officers (real I’m an academy legacy my daddy’s a general energy) would even bother

Jesus died for you was buried and rose again on the third day according to the scriptures. If you confess with your mouth Jesus is lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved. please repent of your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your lord and savior.
