Author here! I hope you guys enjoyed the story; it's admittedly one of my more favorite single parters. Hopefully it holds up against the Abandoned Ship and ongoing Emergency Broadcast series you guys seem to like so much. And if you did happen to enjoy it, please, go and preorder Gather Round Volume 2 from the link in the description above. This story, along with a few others of mine will be featured in it, along with some other great authors when it drops next month on the 25th! It's my first time ever having anything of mine published, and honestly, it's a childhood dream come true for me. Hopefully I'll also have a book of my own published in the near future!

I remember like 8 years ago, as a young teenager these stories sometimes would have me thinking about how much scarier the stories would be if I was living alone. Now at 23, my grown, independent ass can’t even finish listening tonight. Imma have to finish it during the day smh. It’s rare that just a narration alone can give me that same jump-scared feeling😫

It's one of my major fears to see someone peering at me. Like, especially if I'm alone. If I was ever home alone, and I saw someone peeking around a corner or through a gap in a door, I'd scream myself hoarse. Even worse, would be seeing an eye or face peering from a place where I know nobody would possibly be able to fit. It reminds me of Fuan No Tane...

If you can see them, they can see you. - Constantine Also, this reminds me of that Wes Craven movie They.
@joeygoodwin9629
@joeygoodwin9629 Ай бұрын
Actually a really underrated movie! I purposely didn't describe the creatures much, so as to let the audience imagine something far more horrifying than I could describe. But, I will say I mentally drew some inspiration for them from the 2011 remake of Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, along with the original 1973 version.
@smoothoperator7219
@smoothoperator7219 Ай бұрын
@@joeygoodwin9629 Aside from the part about them being four inches high and easily defeated, I actually like Don't Be Afraid of The Dark. I'm not sure at what point They popped into my head, but a part of me was definitively waiting to hear about them effecting electricity. But, since he said he was seeing them at work, I'm guessing light wasn't an issue.
@joeygoodwin9629
@joeygoodwin9629 Ай бұрын
@@smoothoperator7219 I agree about how disappointing it was how easy they were to be defeated, though what made them creepy was the fact they could overwhelm someone through sheer numbers. I think, if you forced me to describe what my creatures looked like in my mind, I'd say a mixture of them, and the nightmare creatures from They. Maybe about two or three feet tall, and far harder to fight off. And far more dangerous.
@smoothoperator7219
@smoothoperator7219 Ай бұрын
@joeygoodwin9629 What I really liked about that movie is the mystery. Not so much who the villain was, but what they looked like. Howling V plays out like a Who done it horror movie. You know it's a werewolf, but you see alot less of it than in usual werewolf movies. They is like that, I suppose because of their fear of the light. The creatures are seen in the shadows and not until at least halfway through the movie do you really get a good look at them. Your creatures clearly have no problem with the light so they are definitely more dangerous.

Impenetrable black misty spots is what i saw for about a month after my first siezure. Imagine seeing a shadow figure, but instead of it being figure shaped, it was half the size and off the ground. It wasnt part of my vision either, like i had dark spots in my vision or something, the beginning to this story pretty much perfectly describes it. Weird yes, scary, not at all.

I just want to say I love this story because for once it feels like a genuine creepypasta and not somebody writing a story about a Mary Sue that can't be affected by the monster and I understand if anybody does like those types of stories you know there's nothing wrong with that but I just feel like creepypastas should never be those types of stories because I feel the more the main character is put in danger the more they have a chance of dying I think that's what makes the story so good and it makes you feel so on edge because you want what's best for their safety even if there's other people around them as well and how they could be affected by the monster that's chasing them throughout the story maybe that's just me I really hope nobody goes all crazy in the comments section towards me about this opinion but I'm just glad to hear an actual creepypasta story that sounds like an actual creepypasta story

This one fucks me up a little bit. For context, my house seems to grow a little in residence late at night. My house is best described as an east and a west wing. Its not a big house by any means (only 1860 sq ft) but the "west wing" holds the living room/dining room/kitchen/laundry room and access to my garage. The "east wing" holds 3 bedrooms and the 2nd bathroom. Its all linked together by a long hallway. At night, if im in the living room cleaning, I can sometimes hear a woman talking. It sounds like shes speaking english but it all sounds like gibberish (almost like how those "english sounds to non english speakers" videos sound). Thats bad enough but if you dont look directly at the dark hallway when you hear her speak, youll catch a shadowy head peering sideways around the corner. If that isnt bad enough, it is also ridiculously tall. Appearing roughly 7ft based on the height and angle. Other times though it will be low like a toddler or maybe a 4-5 year old. If you look directly at it it not only pulls back around the corner, but the woman also stops talking. No idea what it is but I've been here 6 years and I've learned to ignore it and pretend to not see anything.
