This is one of the best moments between Jeff and Pierce. Sometimes these moments shine brighter than the Troy and Abed ones. I know, sounds crazy, but often they are more relatable the older you get.

Pierce and Jeff moments are always sweet because it forces them to be nice and to learn to understand each other. Unlike, for example, Pierce and Shirley (I still really like that pairing) where they already get each other and get along great as a result, other than the time Shirley staged a hypercapitalist dystopia and forced Jeff to assist in inciting a coup de atat reviewlution on the bourgmeowsie.

God I really miss season 1 Pierce. He wasn't a great person but he wasn't the walking problem starter that he would later become, one of my favorite scenes is when he gives Jeff advice in the pottery episode. Later on I see no reason why they would want to still be friends with him but early in the show it made sense to some degree.

I miss this Pierce. The bumbling old man with nuggets of wisdom. ''She earned it.'' Says so much about him.

Seeing Amber just treat her step-dad like that seems so cruel. On the flip side, her experience was probably not the best and anyone whose focused enough to just get the money - best of luck to ya! Season 1 Pierce yet again shines in this clip. That, and "somewhere to hang up his hat" are probably top five Pierce moments in the entire series.

I think it was sour grapes. _Glee_ was a smash hit from the get-go (including its various soundtracks) while _Community_ struggled in the ratings and was always in danger of being canceled. Also, the Emmys (aka TV Oscars) fully embraced _Glee,_ which was nominated multiple times throughout it six seasons (winning several awards) while _Community_ received a measly four nods in total and not a single win. People aren't kidding when they state that _Community_ was severely underrated.

Pierce was best in season 1. Literally the wisest of the group. I understand why chevy felt the writing is bad in later seasons. He turned into a caricature!

I think he was at his best in the first two seasons. Three sort of lost the thread in regards to him and four was a gas leak year so... you know.

I understand that Dan and Chevy had difficulties working together but they could've at least stayed professional and maintained Pierce' role as the crazy grandfather of the group instead of a villain.
@TheLastKentuckyIrregular95242 жыл бұрын
@@Ken-df8cp Chevy has a history of being difficult to work with and sort of taking over. And Dan Harmon is pretty well known for refusing to alter his vision of anything which is what puts him at odds with studios. I think it was inevitable that they'd clash.

I think it was kind of a feedback loop. Chevy being difficult to work with led to the writers pushing him into a more villainous role, which then led back to Chevy not liking the direction of his character and getting worse. Or at least, that's what I've heard.

As much as Pierce had his issues, he was just enough of a father figure as needed for Jeff, whom is pretty self-sufficient but never had a proper dad. Interesting dynamic that worked out.

I feel like they missed a massive trick with Jeff and Pierce, I feel like Pierce was a bit too problematic with his humour, in a family guy or South Park kind of way, which isn't a bad thing, by any means, but I feel like they could have made these guys the underrated friendship of the show, these guys getting along all the time, make Pierce the dad that Jeff never had, but at the same they're genuine buddies who enjoy scotch and give each other deep advice, (though its a completely different genre) like Rick and Hershel from TWD
