Man, this build ACTUALLY works super well! Been having trouble in Master SE, and will be trying this build in there once I'm back from my hiatus, but in the content I have used it in, it ROCKS, and has very quickly become one of my top builds for Warlock👍👍👍👍

If you throw a nade and pop rift right after as long as the animation is started before it gets a kill it will auto refresh your rift. Also can we mention how sexy Starfire is.

i got a secant filaments, starfire exotic class item. so i get devour on empower cast and that helps build grenade on top of the empowered buff. so it feels very similar to season of the haunted starfire meta

unfortunately prismatic warlock doesn't have a good grenade. the best one is probably storm with facet of dominance that does a total of ~50k assume all bolts land which only happens on larger and bosses (not on champs). compared to the ~100k of 1 touch of flame fusion nade its just not enough damage to be useful in endgame pve. you could make a case for vortex but with a base damage of ~54k does very low dps and is once again not useful in any challenging content. in addition, grenade kills don't charge your empowering rift with spirit of starfire. also on prismatic you already have easy access to devour with feed the void, id say the better 1st column perk is spirit of inmost light. (still only good for ad clear / -5 activities) side note, incinerator snap will give you 2x empowered abilities for ~10s which is a very easy way to cycle your inmost light proc for near 100% ability uptime. which mostly solves the rift energy issue.

I tried a similar build when they buffed the warlock exotic glaive. But the uptime and ammo economy wasnt good enough to keep benevolence going and you were using a glaive. Red Death is perfect for starfore now

I’ve been using Speaker’s Sight (goated armor piece) and Red Death for GMs, and while the healing with Benevolence is fantastic, my damage output is a little on the low end. This build seems like a great way to keep up that healing while giving my damage a bit more juice, excited to try it!

A starfire protocol build was the first proper build I ever tried in destiny, and while I'm certainly not the best player out there it kickstarted my growth in the game from someone not great at it, to someone decent. Despite the nerfs I've kept a soft spot for this exotic, I love to see a build bringing it back to life

I made a starfire build when the new artifact perks came out and i was liking how strong it was feeling. but the survivability was bad and I haven't used it much. Now i think im gonna have to just suck it up and use red death, have never been a big fan of the gun even since D1 since its really boring to me to use but i can't deny how helpful it is to the build

It's my favorite weapon this season just got the catty on it I wasn't a huge fan of it originally but the healing carried me through the campaign and eventually was a habit choice I think it's my most used weapon with call/outbreak being second I do prefer outbreak for solo GM runs though

The rift makes you limited in movement. I prefer phoenix dive with heat rises. That gives you res x2 and scorching. Use singering on solo or benevolence in team activities and its godmode without the use of red death.

Ive been having trouble keeping the buffs up. Maybe its a skill issue, but cure and restoration from Red only last for 2 seconds and theyre down before my next kill. Other people are killing the ads before I get last hits, so i die when I don't expect to. I like the concept, but i feel like im doing it wrong. I also often die before I get my first 2 kills.

been looking for a starfire build to play around, only issue is...ember of benevolence lol, i get its super op but in most situations where im alone, it just seems useless for someone who primarily plays solo since i dont think you can self proc it. what would you run in that place? i had a setup where i ran mercy + searing for resto, and then torches and empyrean, i was considering forgoing torches in favor of ashes, but i like being able to get resto and radiant by myself without having to rely any kinda weapons or whatever else to get said buffs.

Builds for lowmans are usually contextual to the specific lowman, though from your examples this build should be totally fine for all of vog up to GK, ron 1st and 2nd should also be fine, and unfortunately I haven't done duo Crota so I'm not really familiar with the strats

It's not broken, it's nerfed. You gain significantly less time added to your resto and radiant for killing red bars than you used to.

Here’s a random thought 💭… I’m a recently new Sub to your channel and appreciate your attention to details. So I was wondering why a lot of “KZbinrs” always say 100 resilience over recovery be more important, now before anyone thinks I’m totally a Noob and don’t understand the numbers I’m just curious if you could make a video showing the difference damage taken on a tier 9 resilience VS tier 10 as to me 27 percent vs 30 percent isn’t much and having higher recovery seems the numbers mean more as the gab is larger between each tier. 🤷‍♂️ I probably lost you with this comment but if you do understand I would love to see a breakdown on a video actually showing the difference in tier 9 or 8 resilience Vs having tier 10 I do think that would make an interesting video . If you ever get bored of the support/healer play style and want to try something a little more agressive- this is a super viable option & personally, I think this is stronger than the speakers sight build- as I've been playing with both all season. This build is also more fireteam agnostic than speakers sight. While both builds use Ember of Benevolence, this build has built in ability energy with Starfire Protocol.

Honestly healing rift is better imo. The heal from the rift also procs benevolence so you now have an additional aoe healing source that your teammates can benefit from and proc benevolence.

Great video however, I’m pretty sure starfire works with hewing rift. I know on the perk screen it doesn’t say that but when I was using it in onslaught (pre Final Shape) the rift was being fully refunded. I’d still use empowering personally but I just wanted to put this out there.

It works with any class ability you can equip, so it recharges Phoenix Dive as well.

Yeah it will always refund your class ability no matter which one it is, it's just that Empowering Rift is the only one that gives 20% grenade energy per kill while standing in it

Thank you! I did not know this, but this does clarify specifics. We should use the artifact mod, when picking up an orb of power gain, radiant if solar or prismatic subclass is equipped. Using ember of torches is also good.
