I said to keep your eye on this one and I'm glad you checked it out. This was a very fun episode all around. 10/10 in fact. The art and animation didn't need to be this good but I'm so glad they are putting in all the effort and I was expecting it since it is C2C. I'm a little sad though that Tsukimichi S2 isn't going to be animated by them but if it was between this show and Tsukimichi I think they made the right call by putting in all their efforts into this one. Our MC goes out of his way to play trash and badly coded games just to see how trash they are and rank them. I couldn't even imagine some of the shitty games he must have gone into since like it was mentioned while he played the games and it common nowadays too with the amount of bugs there are in games. Hit box bug (the worst kind of bug like you're literally hitting air and it pisses me off personally.) The clipping bug (this one is just funny to find that you can go outside the map and these are just funny to find but annoying if its multiplayer) The invisible mobs bug (you don't know what's hitting you and it's annoying as shit) Shangri La Frontier is the type of game I'd play immediately for how good the world looks and the challenges you face with the bosses and mobs. I like the character designs and it reminded consistent throughout the episode and the animation slapped. They really had a good production cycle it seems because even the walking animation IRL and some of the camera shots looked great. This is like SAO mixed with Bofuri but if the main character was a pro at video games and I think this will be a massive hit. Also got to say... That opening song is so good. It's actually gonna be challenging Ranga Crimson op for top spot atm... we shall see what the other ops sound like but yeah it's extremely good I got goosebumps listening to it. Great video Brandon and I hope we can keep going with this because I've heard nothing but good things about the source material and the anime looks like it's gonna be a huge hit if the word spreads like it should. Also I'm gonna recommend Ragna Crimson for you to watch if you got time for it because I think the first episode was really good and really hype. It can be something special along with this show amung the massive titles this season. Edit: I would kick the shit out of that elf as well like our MC did because that shit is inexcusable NPC or not. I'd be losing brain cells with her bullshit.

@@PodJeeMC Ragna Crimson will not be for everyone but I did read the first few chapters of the manga and it was something I liked. The art was especially top notch. I'm thinking of getting the manga in a physical addition at a later date. But SLF is awesome nonetheless.

The most promising part for me was the mindset of a well seasoned RPG gamer who has only played shitty game for so long that his reflexes perhaps would be extraordinary in a well designed game. The mechanics of a true dive based game was displayed in a very interesting way that I have not seen since .hack//. And was animated like a knife on butter. Just one episode was enough for me to want a real game like this.

That opening slaps so goddamn hard. The OP is credited to a band called FZMZ. With a bit of research, FZMZ is a recently formed special group consisting of five separate artists coming together, one of which includes, MAH, the guy who does the vocals for SiM. Those riffs have been stuck in my head since yesterday. The show's been a nice surprise, I was gonna skip it but a friend of mine convinced me to give it a shot. Glad I did.

I loved the SAO vibes that was what I immediately thought about and i'm glad i'm not alone in that comparison. The bird mask alone had me hooked looking at the thumbnail for the show and I can say I loved that first episode's animation and the cool video game world that feels very dnd like. Can't wait to come back each week ideally that it doesn't pull a Zom 100 and hear your takes on it as well.

I really liked this one... They were actually rolling promotional videos of this anime on train TV in Tokyo. So when I saw it I was kind of interested, hopefully I will enjoy all what's coming in Shangri La Frontier

The MC playing to every BS Game he can find was hilarious 😂 As an SAO fan from the beginning, Shangri-La Frontier definitely catch my interest! The games mechanic are so well done and detailed! Will surely watch it until the very end!

I thought it was an isekai but it’s about a fun VR game wirh a gimmick. Animation was amazing. We also have the a girl who loves the MC and likely will enter the game. We are getting 2 cours too. Glad you are going to cover this. It’s also an odd series where it is a web novel without a light novel and with a manga series instead. Although I haven’t seen C2C animate 2 cours before. XP grind reminds me of when you play Pokémon. Hope we see more of those animated shorts

First i watched a 1hour of recap of the episodes narration, then i got hook so i watched the latest episode of the after narration, then again i was hooked i continued it in the manga ( i was latest ) then again i repeat the anime from episode 1 to finish then im planning to repeat the MANGA because IT WAS SO FREAKING GOOD

A lot of us anime followers had this pegged from the onset. I am glad ep. 1 drew me in and made me crazy interested. The best part was getting into his mindset lol I love that so much. There is a lot of good anime this season, and so far, I've enjoyed every single one of them. There is a couple I had to watch on repeat just because it was that good so far. This is definitely one of them that I'll be following until the end of course. As well as a couple of others that I find very humorous (i.e. My Daughter Left the Nest and Came Back an S Ranked Adventurer) and aldo Two melodramatic anime (i.e.Berserk of Gluttony, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End), and a couple of others as well (two of them deal with racing, and one of them deal with witches). I'll be eating well this season, and waiting for more to arrive. Really looking forward to how everything is going to start and end, once the season is over, and turns over to the Winter Season. This MC is pretty much how I feel about anime in general. (Mostly trash isekai.) You can have fun even with stuff that could be called objectively bad. And you can still get hyped for the real big-hitters. But the sense of wonder and the enjoyment of diving into a (mostly) new world, figuring out how it works... it´s on point.
