Jerry, my wife discovered your channel a while back and turned me on to it. Her father lived in Oak Creek Village near Sedona. We have hiked several trails out there. We started back packing about 7 years ago. We have done a Grand Canyon North to South rim and South Kaibab to river, back up bright Angel back-packing trips. We had always been day hikers before that. We live in Missouri, boring compared to Arizona and Utah. I am very surprised that you dont have hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Your video editing is simply awesome, the clarity, sound and contents of your videos is first rate. We have been wanting to do a KZbin channel. I can tell by the equipment you do show and the editing software that you have a lot of money and time tied up in presenting incredibly great content. We really enjoy your and Tina's humor and honesty when your on the trail. We have a few years on you agree with you on just go hiking, learn and most important....enjoy. It really is never to late to start. I am 63, my wife is 57. I did my first overnight back-packing trip at the canyon at 57, her at 50. This is a really long comment, i just wanted you to know we really enjoy your content and agree whole heartedly...hike, just get out there and hike. There is a lot of beauty on this planet. Again, thank you for your videos and inspiration. Best wishes, keep on producing great stuff!!

Jerry, I ran across your channel - or maybe KZbin served it to me I can't remember, but I just wanted to say I love your style and editing rhythm. It's kind of like Casey Neistat meets Kara & Nate meets the great outdoors, but without a coffee making scene, for which I am grateful. Anyway keep up the great content! I hope this next season you can get a little further from AZ/UT, not that there's anything wrong with that area. SW UT is a treasure. Maybe a Jerry Wyoming series.
@JerryArizona3 жыл бұрын
Wow. As someone who has taken a big influence from Casey Neistat, I'll take that as a huge compliment. I'm going to have to look up Kare & Nate.....Unfortunately, Tina & I have full time jobs and live in AZ, so we're somewhat limited to our trips. But luckily we're 'limited' to AZ, Utah and Colorado most of the time, so no complaints.

Thank you! I usually film on GoPro 9. And just carry a lot of charged batteries. I shoot really short (6~10 second) clips most of the time and the battery lasts about 2 hours, so I can get most day hikes in 1~2 batteries. I also carry a Canon EOSR that I've been trying to use more and more, but GoPro's are easiest for rugged country like we're normally in.

Great video!👏👍 How to you edit this? What program do you use? I've always wanted to get into making videos of my hikes. We just got a go pro so I would love to learn!!
@JerryArizona4 жыл бұрын
I use Premiere Pro and learned off KZbin. Mainly Peter McKinnon, Matti Hoppija, Orange83 and a few others. But you can get free editing software (DaVinci Resolve, I think) that does just as much. But once you get into more complicated stuff than iMovie, it's a steep learning curve at first, so I'd recommend picking the software first, then learning on it specifically. Did you get a GoPro 8? It's awesome. The stabilization in the 8 FINALLY made it where I don't need a gimbal, which is great. I started 3 or 4 years ago with photography, then got into videography and editing. It's nice having the photography background; helps to understand a lot of the settings for video.
@jackielee44564 жыл бұрын
Yes its a GoPro8! Its really amazing! Such great pics and videos! We went to the Caribbean a month ago and took it snorkeling too. The underwater quality video and pics are great too! We will be investing in the lens filters for underwater before our next trip though because I'm sure that would make it even better! We also took the GoPro when we hiked Picacho Peak last weekend and got some great wide angled pics!Thanks for the tips I appreciate it! I will try the free editing software first!
