Nice drive with the dreamy soundtrack and some AZ SRs in the dirt. I hope they never pave the Fish Ck section as a historical monument to the early days. Northside to Reavis Ranch will be open again now, and it's been too long since last my visit up El Oso Rd.

How is it you were allowed to do video footage and carry a backpack?

I think the videos are fine without the 20 different songs added in.

I love this road. I flew into Phoenix from the UK in 2002 (when the car hire ranks were adjacent to the airport, now two miles away.) I camped ( tent) by the shore of Canyon lake. Continued from tarmac to dirt road to Roosevelt Lake, onward to Payson. This drive is still firmly etched in my memory.

"The drone. We want to know what happened with the drone. It looks like a mini-tourniquet." "Just drifted every turn of the SR88 in my rear-wheel drive '79 Volvo 245DL Wagon. Piece of cake." Naw, stupid humor attempts aside, THANK YOU again for bringing us something that most of us have probably never seen and probably never will see in person. I leave every one of your videos with at least three things to put on an unattainable bucket list to see and at least a handful of songs that I can definitely add to my music playlist. Hope you and Tina have a wonderful holiday season!

Love the channel, but always a bit of a headscratcher for the musical track overlays which should be on a hiking adventure in Ireland, not the American Southwest.

Oh, gosh! This was my childhood growing up in Scottsdale! My mom and dad regularly took us on trips which went over the Apache Road, stopping at Tortilla Flats for a pop or a snack (heard it burnt down a few years back), then on to Roosevelt Lake for water skiing (though pretty sure they didn't haul the boat in that way). As a kid in the 70s it felt like a really wild and isolated place. We had good friends that lived at Punkin Center (always thought it was "pumpkin" when I was a kid and laughed at the name). So glad it hasn't been "improved" by paving it. Thanks so much for this!

One of my favorite drives for the last 40 years. Nice to see it's back in business! I'll never forget the time two RVs had to pass each other on Fish Creek Hill causing delays in both directions. With some help from spotters, eventually they navigated past each other - by a matter of inches!

Yeah, that is it. 30 years ago it has been my favourite road. I think I´ve done that trail 4 or five times. Great to see it reopened. Route 66 and Apache Trail, these are the mother roads for me old German! The best for you in 2025, Tina and Jerry. Hope you go on the road again and again!

I did that route to Roosevelt Lake on my very first trip to the USA from the Netherlands years and years ago. I flew in to Phoenix Sky Harbor the night before, and this was the route I choose to do the next morning. In a brand new Dodge Neon rental car :-) BTW: loved that aerial shot going under that low bridge with the car passing over at the same time! Excellent!

Drove this same route in early November. So glad that the Apache trail is open the whole way. El oso was in much better shape than i had remembered too, or i was in a much more capable vehicle than the last time I was on it. Love my Rivian!

An untraveled road in a beautiful place , a cooler full of drinks, and a bag full of snacks is better than any drug or any dopamine inducing experience you can find. To travel it with someone you love makes it the epitome of living. Jerry, you are a lucky man. Thanks for sharing what the camera can capture. You do it better than most. Happy Holidays to you and yours.

I took el oso road in my HYUNDAI Santa Fe in April to hike browns peak. I thought it was a super nice road compared to the other way up. Got a little bumpy when I was almost up to the parking lot, but other than that I could see why a sedan would brave it.

Oh man, You two drove through my back yard playground . Four years we towed our 18 ft. bass boat down fish creek hill to fish apache lake. So many times we decided to rent a storage space at apache lake and just drive the truck there every weekend to fish. One year i hiked from the bridge crossing fish creek going west . It comes out at the bottom of horsehoe dam. Which holds back apache lake. Its two to five miles i think. ( it was a long time ago) Then you can walk up a service road , back up to route 88. Anyway thanks for taking me down memory lane.

Horseshoe Dam is nowhere near Apache Lake. You meant Horse Mesa Damn.
