Currently in the process of printing my first "custom" dice from the DiceMaker. 1,000,000% easier than trying to start from scratch in Blender. Thanks again. @@Nash_Idaho

Instead of saving each dice individually, you can scroll down on the save menu and select 'Export All' and it will save each dice as a separate stl file for you

Excellent tutorial. One question, how to achieve the smooth rounded edges instead of sharp edges of the dice?? please make a tutorial on this

There is an dropdown menu towards the top of the right menu that gives you different options for edges!

I've been using this program for some time to try and design masters, it's absolutely amazing. You can even add the fins for printing. On question though, I don't have a printer myself so I send it out to print, but it seems that I keep having issues with "thin" lines collapsing/not printing well. Any advice on this?
@Nash_Idaho3 ай бұрын
I would recommend getting your own printer as they are really affordable, but a few things I've noticed... adding more supports all around the numbers on the bottom facing faces is important! Keep the intricate designs like a logo on the 20 facing upwards. Lastly keep the designs simple, lines too close together can fuse if the printer isnt dialed perfectly...
@pepijnkooij70953 ай бұрын
@@Nash_Idaho unfortunately here in Brazil they are not as affordable 😅 I think the design is ok, extra supports sounds something I could try. Also wondering about the engraving depth. Do you think it collapses when it’s too deep? I had at 1.25, but considering 0.75 might be better. Afraid that if I put less it won’t be enough after polishing
@elsaschmitt54447 ай бұрын
Its an awesome tutorial, love it. My question is, you made pngs in the blank space, can I do it where a number is without taking the number away? Thank you ^^
@Nash_Idaho7 ай бұрын
You can replace any side with a new design but if you wanted to add a design to a side and keep the number I think you’d have to make a whole new design I don’t think you can layer the designs on top of each other for example

Muchas gracias, genial! Cómo es el asunto sobre la licencia de las fuentes? Puedo usar cualquiera para vender mis dados? Como hago para darme cuenta de que fuente puedo usar o no?
@Nash_Idaho7 ай бұрын
It appears that you can use anything you create with the program freely. The license only seems to restrict the software not the prints. The creator even encourages creating dice masters with it.

I have a question I tried this and it made the dice hollow is there a way to make it solid
@Nash_Idaho11 ай бұрын
which slicer do you use? i've been printing using chitubox without issues, I've heard of some issues with lychee. It may also be an option in your slicer to make it hollow or filled.
@robertwilliams109510 ай бұрын
@@Nash_Idaho it is hollow in the dice program and in the stl I used stl viewer and chitubox I am wondering if it is the font I used I used a font called stucked in gears
@Nash_Idaho10 ай бұрын
@@robertwilliams1095 the 3d file viewed on the computer will be hollow I suppose as it really is just the outside polygons you see, making it solid for 3d printing is the job of the slicer, once it is sliced is it solid?
@robertwilliams109510 ай бұрын
@@Nash_Idaho I figured it out it is the font it is loading at engrave depth of 5.00mm automatically evertime I try to use it. I changed the depth and it fixed the issue thank you for taking time to help me and thank you for the awesome video
@Nash_Idaho10 ай бұрын
@@robertwilliams1095 that is really interesting, I think if the numbers get too deep they can clip through another part of the di and cause the 3d program to not know which side is the inside or outside! Well good to know for the future and I’m glad you figured it out!

Bro since I discovered your channel I've been playing with this program . But I'm trying to put custom logos on mine . And it's a battle man I'm telling to to convert and do all the fine touches to the file. So I'm throwing together some python code that will make this easier to go from a SVG or PNG file run it through the code and spits out the ttd format. I'm trying to do like 12 logos all at once and thes online converters always have some limitations. If it works I'll post it for you and other dice maker devs👌
@Nash_Idaho9 ай бұрын
You should be fine doing custom logos in png format as long as the design is black on a white background
@bulalakay8 ай бұрын
every time i try to load my font it says that it's "erroneous" T_T
@Nash_Idaho8 ай бұрын
Is it a .ttf file? If it is and it doesn’t work then you may need to try a different font, some fonts, specially free ones are missing numbers and other things so maybe that is causing an error too
@badwolf_forge9 ай бұрын
Hope someday they develop it for Mac

It’s built on unity maybe asking the developer to port it to Mac??? Otherwise I have a few videos on using blender to do the same

Next step? That was my first step in dice making. Whole reason i started is because I wanted custom sides for my characters. Oh and i used the free version of Fusion 360
@RandomStuff404s8 ай бұрын
For Fusion 360, you start from scratch or there's a template?
@MakDemonik8 ай бұрын
@@RandomStuff404s started from scratch as i wanted to learn the program doing these. d4 d6 d8 were pretty easy to figure out myself. D10 d12 and d20 i found a tutorial on YT. Once i saved the basic shapes as templates i reused them ever since.
@niallmccarthy68388 ай бұрын
There's a tool you can get for generating 3d polygons in fusion but it's not much better than this as you'd need to go in and individually sketch each number in fusion or draw in images using the canvas feature

Please be advised... If you want to make your own dice, to sell... You can't use other people's fonts. Just like you can't use other people's dice design, a font is copyrighted too. (But some may be public domain)
@Nash_Idaho4 ай бұрын
Good point. Fortunately, there are thousands of royalty free fonts and even more you can purchase for a nominal fee...
@greystorm99744 ай бұрын
@@Nash_Idaho there are indeed. The advice should probably be: check the license on your font
@warpedmeАй бұрын
it wont allow you to add words longer than 4 letter to the faces. So if you're attempting to make dice for sight words for a 1st grade class, this is a major limitation.

@warpedme you could make the word into an image using photoshop or canva or any number of free image editors.
