the black guitar grimoire book that has scales in it also has a video that helps understand it , however the guy presenting the video has some old school occult / metal imagery going on in it so it might be off putting for some.

GG is a great series! The editions on Scales & Modes and Chords & Voicings helped me immensely when I was just starting out

If this is a SERIES, for the beginner- beginner , and subsequent progress? Is there a # 1,2,3… or color coded…?

Have you used the black and red one? I was given that a long time ago and could never understand it so it's on the shelf. Is the green one better for beginners ?

there are videos that go along with the books and you can find them on YT, however the author is into the old school occult / heavy metal thing so some of it may put people off

That book ( Guitar Grimoire Series ) has been brilliantly written, a hell of a lot of work has gone into them books, well worth getting 👍.
