If you’re expecting your first baby and dreading the lack of sleep that every newborn parent seems to experience...
Here is what I would want someone to tell me about newborn sleep if I were pregnant with my first baby ⤵️
❌ it’s not about safety although I think it’s important to understand how to reduce the risk of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).
.
❌ it’s not about waking the baby to feed although most of my clients don’t realize this will be necessary for the first couple weeks.
.
❌ it’s not about the importance of understanding what newborn sleep looks like even though so many of my clients end up waking up their babies without even realizing it (I have a video I can show you, more on that below).
.
✅ it’s about understanding that, although the AAP doesn’t recommend sleep training until 4 months, new parents can still get good sleep habits in place from the day their baby is born.
.
What I have seen over the past 10 years as a doula is that when new parents understand how to do this the baby & parents all GET MORE SLEEP 😴
.
Are you preparing for your first baby?
.
I have a free class to get sleep & feeding off to a good start (and in the class I’ll show you the video I’m talking about so you don’t make the same mistake when your baby is sleeping)
If you are 15-39 weeks pregnant with your first baby THIS is for you…
