Here is my number one tip for learning: - Wikipedia. This is probably my favorite website, and I am constantly looking something up on Wikipedia, whatever happens make me curious at the moment. Russian has the fourth biggest Wikipedia, after English, German, and French. So whatever you are looking up, there is very likely a Russian article about it. After you read the article in your native language, so to the left sidebar, and choose the Russian article under "Languages." because you have just read about the subject in your native language, you will deduce the meaning of a lot of new vocabulary in the Russian article. And because it's something you were just curious enough to look up, it's interesting content, meaning that your brain will be ready to receive it. When your Russian is good enough, you can skip your native language altogether when you are interested in something and just read it in Russian. Also: -Movies. Even when your level is very low, you can pick up a lot by watching Russian movies with subtitles on. This will give you vocabulary, practice hearing spoken intonation, and common phrases that aren't direct translations from your native tongue. - KZbin. Search for videos in Russian on your hobbies, and subjects that interest you. The interesting subject will give you motivation, and the fact that they mostly won't have subtitles will force you to pay attention. Plus the fact that most videos are homemade will give you good practice hearing real speech. - Music. Getting a song stuck in your head is an incredible effective way to learn vocabulary. - Talk to somebody. It's much easier to get real, understandable input from a human being who is trying directly to communicate with you. And your brain will realize that you need Russian to communicate when you are in a real conversation with a speaker. @htetrasme_ (IG) / @htetrasme (TG)

Я до сих пор шучу, что мой уровень английского остался на уровне 6 класса ахаха потому что именно тогда я начала слушать музыку на английском и пела эти песни постоянно (и записывала тексты песен (на слух! у меня не было интернета) в тетрадь и переводила каждое слово со словарём!)

I need to try something. I feel like I am in Level B hell. I know I am not fluent, but I want to be at least your basic C level. I think I am going to tag things in the house to get some vocabulary. I have a guest from Perm. Today we were talking about baseboards (mine are dirty!) so I learned плинтус. It was an interesting lesson for her. I explained base (the bottom) and that they are usually wood thus baseboard.

ln the morning, I consume russian content. Music, apps, television, and chats; over a cup of tea, are a big part of my morning. In the evening, I read from a book of short stories. Currently: I use the Speakly app. I find is an almost perfect way to learn common vocabulary, and would recommend it to anyone. It also recommends music which I listen to as part of my regular day. Television: I watch shows with Russian subtitles turned on. I think it's a great way to map words to the sounds of the language. Of course I don't understand everything, but language learning is about progress, not perfection. Book: There is a short stories book by Olly Richards called "Short Stories in Russian for Beginners." His series of books is very good. I ignore grammar unless it's vital to a point I run across. Russian grammar is incredibly difficult, and I think best learned a small bit at a time, with exposure rather than by memorization. That said, there is a free app called "Russian Grammar" which drills you on endings. These are just my ways, good luck with yours!

Wow! that's the whole schedule! I will definitely check the Speakly and what is interesting in Olly's books. I follow his channel, but never checked the books. And tbh that's one of my dreams - to write a book :) Thanks for sharing :) and this is very true "with exposure rather than by memorization"

В ваших видео есть что-то очень особенное, что, на мой взгляд, отличает их (в лучшую сторону) от других на KZbin.Я действительно имею в виду это, потому что есть много других, которые я ценю. Тон вашего голоса и разборчивость слов очень помогают в понимании русского языка. Кстати, я использовал гугл-переводчик, чтобы не ошибиться.

Yea. My understanding of the Russian language is still very poor (because I spend way too little time learning because I have other stuff to do with higher priority). But I can tell from experience that it really helps to improve your Russian language skills when you teach russian speaking people your own native language (Dutch in my case).

I saw this in the chat, I have to agree with the last part about teaching your own language. I have a perfect example. My Russian friend asked why I'm always using "one"...this one, that one, red one, blue one. By explaining it I learned that один is not used like that, it's much more specific. один is very handy once you understand how NOT to use it!

Единственный способ выучить язык - это полная одержимость. Я бомбардирую себя русским весь день, каждый день. Помимо этой «обширной» бомбардировки, я также интенсивно работаю над этимологией, используя Викисловарь.

отлично видео! спасибо! поздравления на 500 subs! я не знала что ты живёшь в Булгарии. я хочу выучить болгарский язык после русского и украинского. Ambitious, I know! but I have a newfound love of language learning and I'm really fascinated by Slavic languages right now. (secret tip for other learners... Bulgarian has no cases...😏) я новый студент русского языка поэтому я должен сказать ето по-английски: I think you are doing the right things with your channel. The lessons are good and the telegram community is fun to be in (It's a little overwhelming but I'm starting to catch up with it!). I especially like that you only speak Russian in the videos. I have watched other language teachers on KZbin and I often find they are *too* charming and their English is *too* good so I remember the English explanations and forget the Russian word they were trying to explain. I like your conversation style and you are good at intonating naturally without speaking too quickly. I will try your method for practicing cases, thus far the only method that has worked for me at all is rote repetition. The correct case can "sound" right through repetition even though я не понимаю почему. If you could outline an organized way to drill (practice) with your method, I'd be interested to try it! Looking up random things you see is one of those ideas that seems obvious, so why did I never think of it? I paused the video to do it and it's so fun. Keep up the great work, stay positive when dealing with KZbin because, from experience, I know they don't make it easy to grow a channel.
