Well, actually, even though you guys don't care for it, the chopped steak smothered with onions and mushrooms is my favorite and always consistent. Almost everything I've had at Longhorn has been good, with the exception of always too much salt. Also, unfortunately, almost all soups (canned, at restaurants, etc) have way too much sodium.

Always get Ribeye or NY Strip if you're after flavor. Get Filet if you're after tenderness(only when ordered rare to medium-rare), and get sirloin if you are simply after a cheap price. And the Chocolate Stampede is not good, skip this and try one of the other deserts (caramel apple goldrush is good).

Salt and butter is how restaurants get you, they stimulate the taste buds, so they add extra.

@@rochellebayne2515 ya, but the point was that they don't add a kilogram of salt to a tiny bowl of soup. The video just mistook grams for micrograms. But ya, adding tons of salt is a cheap way to lower cost by substituting for other ingredients that might actually make the dish taste better, and be healthier.

The chopped steak is delicious! It comes with caramelized onion, sauteed mushrooms and a very tasty sauce! The baked potato and salad round it out nicely. I order it often and it's reasonably priced. The Chocolate Stampede is a chocolate lover's dream come true! I received a free one for my birthday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Took me 6 days to finish it ( it IS rich!), but I wasn't complaining!

The 20 ounce Outlaw Ribeye or the 22 ounce Porterhouse are both excellent. Don't bother with the 12 ounce small boneless ribeye, it is hard to cook it to order, they will overcook it almost every time

I've only tried longhorns hamburger and fries or baked potato, I forget. I will never buy their hamburger again. It just simply was a failure to sell at a steakhouse and it should be a tough choice to decide for one vs something else. The seasoning was a mismatch and tasted like cooked on a pan. Potato was ok.

A Longhorn Steakhouse opened up by me this year and I went to check it out. I ordered the bacon cheese burger with nothing else on it. What I got was a cheese and pickle burger. I sent it back and waited, and waited, and then the burger showed up. It had cheese, it had bacon (not much bacon) on what I would call a meh bun and the fries were mundane too. The meat of the burger was excellent but everything else mediocre at best.

Have you eaten there more than once? The parmesean crusted chicken is one of their most popular menu items. I've eaten it there for a decade. Sometimes there is more parmesan, never had an issue with that item.

In this case I TOTALLY DISAGREE with you! My FAVORITE dish at Longhorn is the Parmesan Crusted Chicken, and it is NOT dry or tasteless! (My only negative is that it is sometimes too salty.) I also like the Salmon better than their steaks! And the French Onion Soup USED to be great but they seem to have changed the recipe a few years ago and it is no longer as good. (Ditto with their formerly great Caesar Salad dressing.) It seems you must have tried these at the WRONG Longhorn location. Try a different one and report back.

I disagree...a leftover steak is great the next day. You just can't microwave it. It needs to be reheated to an internal temperature of 130-140 degrees F in a pan with sizzling butter. Serve with crusty artisanal bread or crostini.
