Thats almost unheard of even in the case all these years you would think it moisture or something would have done some damage ,Amazing!!1

I am notorious for being the "first ding" guy for so many guitars. Friends stopped letting me play their new instruments. It's probably just as well that I'll never touch that beautiful Gibson.

I’ll speculate that that guitar was stored in an arid, dry climate, such as a desert. (Think Arizona). Humidity would have affected it over time. Perhaps it was kept in one location, say, the same house over time. That’s an amazing example.
@TheFolkwayMusic3 жыл бұрын
Probably not a desert as it would have developed cracks from dryness

@@TheFolkwayMusic Crazy! In my collection, I have a 2011 White Falcon with all the original ‘55 appointments. She’s a total case queen with less than 20 hrs of play. It’s gold hardware is far more tarnished than those Waverly’s ! I keep my guitars in a humidity controlled environment, in very good cases, in a “standing” position, and your old girl is in as good a shape as my new 2020 Martin SCe 13 ! I’m coming shopping when I don’t have to declare a guitar run as an “emergency”. PS - a visit to your store, over 10 yrs ago led to a spring spent with Sergei, in 2011 I think!?! Thanks for that! Peace

That is crazy beautiful! It goes to show how strange it must have been. They were all over the board, building guitars in this economic free-fall, figuring out on the fly!

fantastic, and all well and good-but.......what's the story behind it?! can you divulge why this instrument is in such pristine condition?

It's in pristine condition because it simply was never used. It happens sometimes!

Hello folkway music, i have a Dorado Guitar and i want help identifying it, it has no model number and a serial number of 60. Wich baffles me, it smells incredibly old and just looks old in general says it was made in japan id like to send some pictures if i could its banged up a little but still plays like a beauty, i was told it was and old classic and ive played for 13 years and have not seen anything like it though i think the founder of Dorado was Japanese if you can help that would be amazing thank you!
@TheFolkwayMusic3 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris - Japanese guitars aren't our specialty, but we'd be happy to help. Go ahead an email us photos. We can be reached at info@folkwaymusic.com.

Hi Mark, I have been through the comments to date, and saw your replies, but am still at a loss. Are you not at liberty to divulge the guitar’s full history? Or did someone leave it swaddled in a basket on your doorstep?(ha ha). So much info actually SOAKS into my mind after watching you speak. You cover all the bases w/ visual aides always choreographed into each logical step of your explanations. That one you did on exposing Gibson’s history of bridge plate inconsistencies, over the years, was eye opening! Thank you for sharing your time this way. Seems you outta be getting back to work, aye? Truly amazing! JJZ...(°¿.°`)

It s probably a copy, a 100 years guitar even in his case will age... This is a new guitar, people make copies to make money and remember that a guitar is not a space shuttle, if a good luthier wants he can make a perfect copy... Don let fool you
