Avacyn the Purifier IS, in point of fact BOROS. The backside is red indicated by the red symbol on the type line. You CAN use him for your mono-red Innistrad idea.

There are 43 cats in rakdos colors. Most of them are.... not great. Best bet for Rakdos cats would be Mahadi with a sac/discard theme and a side of Chandra Planeswalkers (see Chandra's Embercat). Also, if you run Urborg Panther, Feral Shadow, Breathstealer, and Spirit of the Night should REALLY be in there too. For legendary cats in rakdos colors, there is also Falthis, Shadowcat Familiar and Mirri the Cursed.

if I run tutors then I run usually 2 board wipes. if no tutors then I run about 3 with atleast 6 targeted removal.
@edhjankcenter8 ай бұрын
ooooooo nice nice. that's a bit too much for my taste I think but I might also be running too little lol who knows

I don't know about that.... If you have SEVEN mana open I don't think ANYONE is going to think 'you have nothing'.^^ Still great for the potentially instant speed though.

Blood Mist is ok but why not give ALL your creatures double strike? Berserker's Onslaught will give all your attacking creatures double strike. Rage Reflection will give all your creatures double strike ALL the time (and can be had for as low as $.70).

30:11 I objectively think this is no longer correct. Games are so fast, decks are so optimized, and cards are so overloaded that trading 1 for 1 on spot removal is just bad. There’s times where it’s necessary, but now I think assymetrical wipes are the truth. Playing against Voja, spot removal is basically useless as the elfball Voja player gets so far ahead, deals tons of dmg and then popping any piece, including Voja, just sets yourself so far behind it’s not worth it. 4+ mana to spot remove a creature is essentially taking a turn off. Even playing against other decks, 1 for 1 isn’t enough anymore. Unless your engine is just stronger than theirs, board wipes, especially efficient or one sided ones, are the way.
@edhjankcenter8 ай бұрын
right and I think the point we’re making is that (depending on playgroup and meta dynamics), we’d rather be running more 1 for 1 removal rather than a ton of board wipes. the reasoning being id rather watch my friend go off with Voja and maybe lose the game as a result rather than never let them go off at all
@edhjankcenter8 ай бұрын
but, your point is super valid!
@jcstaff10077 ай бұрын
@@edhjankcenter 100% agreed with u up until about last year, in my personal play group my friends ran so many wipes it was absurd. Garuanteed there would be 3-4 wipes per game and the games would last 2hrs + so I took all of my wipes out and just put cards that survived theirs as a meta call. Now, both with me playing more on my own and the philosophy of wizards appearing to trend towards more power crept cards, i've done a 180 and swapped most spot removal for those cheap/1 sided wipes where possible. but either way i agree with you, for the sake of time I 100% would rather the game end than everyone dredge through long turns of rebuilding.
@equivocat8 ай бұрын
Being a combo player, board wipes and stax are necessary to buy time, and are usually asymmetric since my board states are minimal. Spot removal drops off in efficiency (for both cost and card advantage), so spending 1 or 2 more mana for a board wipe is better. I’ll run my 8+ board wipes happily.
