I definitely suggest making more towers in your bases not only for the protection, but if you do get lost, you have somewhat of an easier time finding your way back to your base, campfires can also be useful to because the smoke goes high which might help finding your base as well, that and it helps for cooking food and saving coal that way if you want the smoke to go higher as well place a haybale underneath it that'll make the smoke go a bit higher then default.

I actually kind of had a creepy experience being on my Minecraft server after midnight. A zombie piglin showed up in a place it shouldn't have been able to get to, the room where I kept my snow golem. I checked to make sure it hadn't killed the snow golem, apparently where I had the golem it couldn't see the zompig to throw snowballs at it. I stared at the zompig for a minute, then it started moving faster than it should have been able to, ran right at me, and before I could register what had happened, it hit me once despite not having been hit and then ran off. It didn't do anything else, once it got out of the room it slowed down to normal speed and I followed it and killed it. Then I went back to the snow golem room and... the golem was gone. No drops or anything, just gone.

Me too, my mine collapsed or so it seemed because the whole cave was filled in and there was no way out me and my son panicked quickly dug our way up out because we were truly scared my son was playing 2 player with me he was digging straight up beside me I looked at him as lava poured over him killed him and took everything me and him were playing survival mode to by the way so we worked for everything my son burst into tears next to me . I told him I would avenge him and get out then I continued digging up lave came down where I was next and I was watching so I dug sideways and it missed me then I continued to dig up and it seemed like it was taking forever then lave came down again faster than usual I couldn't dodge it and it killed me even after digging sideways. I went back to the spotthe next day where me and my son died after praying and announting my head because the weirdest thing was was the fact that the thoughts entered my mind before any of it ever happened such as the cave filling in that's what made me actually look in the first place. Me and my son did. and there was a lave pool the size of a lake directly above our heads representing the lake of fire bible reference the next day it was as if a miracle happened because all of our stuff was back and I saved it before quiting freaked out because me and my son were going to check it out the next day so I believe the devil was sending me and my family a malevolent message.

Cave sounds are randomly played when you are near or in a cave, im 99% sure it has nothing to do with block changes or mob spawns, otherwise you would hear it a lot when you first go near a cave as several mobs tend to spawn. Just an observation i have made

Creepiest thing I had happen to me ( was a few days ago ) I was in the deep dark with a friend, we were sneaking around trying to get the rest of the loot and light up the place. Heard the sound of someone breaking dirt. If you’ve been to the deep dark you know there’s deepslate and scull there, no dirt in sight. ( we even checked ) and it wasn’t an enderman either ( oddly enough there was no mobs down there. Sides a warden rumbling bout that we avoided ) and even if it was, it wouldn’t make the digging noise. It sounded exactly like another player digging and picking up dirt. Before anyone asks I know it wasn’t my buddy cause they were right next to me ( we were trying to get around one of the areas with the traps and pressure plates/redstone lamps. ) it spooked both of us and they ended up stepping on the pressure plate and spawned another warden, they then immediately died as I tried ( and failed ) to sneak away. Those things are hella fast and I had no idea they’d sniff you out. I thought if I stayed crouched they couldn’t find me but alas. Anyways. Idk if this just. Happens sometimes?
