The tyre warning light showed, i checked and they were only down a few psi . So i replaced both of them, and problem fixed. Btw tread was only down around 15%.

Bad tires. New tires and an an alignment is what it needs. Then... you can look at the shocks. The outside rear tire wear is probably from the tire rotation because they used to be on the front. Even with the heavy towing loads, the tire wear would typically be even on the rear duallies if that were the real problem.

So the leaf springs take the load, and the shock absorbers are damping the elastic responce? Yeah would make total sense that if the dampers are worn out your more suseptible to resonance. 30mph with those size tires must correspond to the period of the vehicle frame. And yes, a heavier load would indeed make this worse because the damping force the shocks provide is proportional to strain rate, not to the forces its resisting, and there is more mass vibrating when the front end of the trailer is bearing on the rear tires.
@Garth2011
@Garth2011 6 ай бұрын
On dual rear wheels, most tire shops are suggesting those 4 tires match in brand and size for one, they also suggest that they get rotated as they wear, sometimes inner and outer can be moved or other times they need to dismount two of the rears and move them to the fronts. It's expensive and if you don't keep up with this, you end up with whats in this video. New shocks x4, new rear tires x4 and they may as well be Yokohama to match the front brand. Essentially, as the load increases, the less spring there is which translates into zero suspension at certain driving conditions such as level and flat.

Scotty, in the UK if the police saw those tyres you can be fined £2500 per tyre and three points on your licence.

$900 dollars is cheap compared to a death of the grandson, medical bill, or anyone else!

I'll bet the bad shocks contributed to the worn tires. Bouncing will wear them out of round and now they vibrate. Needs shocks and at least 4 tires. That truck is a public menace on anything other than a bone dry road at 30mph or less. He could easily kill someone or a family.

With millions of big truck experience, dull tires must have the same tread depth.
