How is faith a choice? I was born with biological factors I can’t control, into an environment I didn’t choose, with a brain I didn’t choose that now leads me to doubt even though I DONT want to. I’ve tried not being honest with myself and my doubts and it just makes me feel like a fraud and I know god knows my mind and will see through the veil of running away from my questions and doubts. Hes not gonna buy that I purposely didn’t confront my fears because I was afraid I would get answers I didn’t like: such as his non existence. I don’t want that-so the option is to run? Gods smarter than that and will know. So again, how is faith a choice?

I used to feel God's presence then all of a sudden it stopped, i thought i had gone back to being lukewarm, i used to cry all the time to God, wishing to feel His presence like I used to, but that silence was helping me build my faith and not just only concentrate on feeling Him but also believing and understanding His word. But for us as believers we also suffer like those who do not believe(yet the other part of that suffering is different). Jesus said: "This world will give you tribulations, but take heart, I've overcome the world." Jesus himself when he came in the world, he suffered all his Life, and he never said that those who believed in him will not suffer. In fact, it is to expect. But, what he promised is that in all this, he will be there and we will always find peace and joy in him, because he overcame. And it's the faith in his victory that he gave to all who believed in him that allows us to stand firm through any hardship.

Nov 4th - Rory, there is hope if you become a prayer warrior . God , through a Man of God told me in early 1990 to start praying each day and to go to my secret place of prayer . He was preparing me for a healing ministry which would involve daily prayer . I had received a healing ministry which I prayed for in the 1980s. I wasn’t using it until 2 years ago when I prayed for a man who was bi-polar. He had been going to church with his wife but gave up trying to turn his life over to Jesus . I prayed and God showed me how the Holy Spirit was being poured upon him. 3 days later his wife said that her husband was now on fire for Jesus. If you and I pray daily and come before Jesus there is a chance that God can reduce the pain-level. Nov 4th -- if you set aside Catholic teaching of praying to Mother Mary then you can seek God through Jesus and ask for the filling of the Holy Spirit. I visited a prayer -Bible study at a Catholic Church in West Covina with Spirit-filled priests - ui went one time and noticed that no one would come to their meetings on a Wednesday night - they all went into the main Sanctuary . I am a Protestant Christian but couldn’t keep coming on Thursdays or Wednesdays because I started a new ministry at a retirement home where I gave Bible studies . I need prayer. For years I’ve been on the verge of just ending it. Always staring at things that could just end my life completely. I’ve hidden this pain because no one needed to know. I’m still feeling this way. My parents have tried to encourage me but I just can’t….i can’t. I’ve held so many things in because I’m the eldest I’m supposed to be the responsible one, even as an adult. I’ve tried to keep my faith no matter how little it was. It’s all gone and I have nothing left to give but my life. Bad situations in my life would have built my faith up, but instead it’s destroyed it. I’ve prayed, I’ve been going to church smiling but I don’t feel happy. I’ve given to others without caring about what I get in return because I just don’t care anymore. I need prayer because I might just end it, but I can’t because murder, even to one’s self is a sin. So, I feel stuck. I’ve tried Jesus…I don’t know what else I have besides him and yet I just…I can’t.

I have a very interesting testimony. Once in a mental hospital (I struggle with schizophrenia) there was this Christian lady who was mean to me and told me to go away. The next day she approached me but I gasped, and then she said, "Why are you afraid of me?" As soon as she said that, she got possessed and she looked like she was in Hell. She kept asking this guy who looked like Jesus if she could be forgiven for her sins. But in my window, late at night, I saw Jesus opening his arms out to me and Gabriel was with him. I know I can see things outside my schizophrenia so I felt honored that he would come to me. When I feel so alone and outcasted by Christians in church
