I do my nails about every 2 weeks. I remove color with a carbide bit, smooth away rubber base with a sanding band, then I use a hand file to remove most of the rubber base and shape the nails. Next, I do dry manicure with a flame bit to remove cuticle, any remaining product at the cuticle line, and to gently lift the skin there. I find that doing it so frequently prevents having much dead tissue that needs to be trimmed off. The very small amount usually comes off with the rubbing alcohol or with the ball shaped buffing attachment. As you say, lots of brushing away loosened product also. When I reapply product, I use a teeny brush to make sure the rubber base extends just under that lifted skin. Over the next couple of hours the skin settles back down, providing a very seamless look.

Im going to need to try the no file method. Ive tried super hard not to but i always end up overfiling or accidentally bumping into my cuticle too hard on my dominant hand and damaging healthy skin.
