I remember when I held my first krugerrand, spot was $430.00, and that’s want the dealer wanted. My 5 year old daughter grabbed my arm, and said daddy look at this one, the coin fell out hit the glass counter, my eyes and the dealers eyes lit up, I passed. Money was tight at the time. Later that week, I bought a 1/10 maple leaf off of HSN, $90.00. Still have it, been stacking ever since. Man, sometimes I want to sell.

I bought a lot of 20 francs when they were in the $350 range - I see them for $530 today. That's what we were paying for 1/4ths not too long ago. And it's quite possible we'll see 3K gold soon. While it's nice to see our stack rise in value - it's tough as hell to part ways with your cash when gold gets this high - but we still manage.
