Being alone while trying to be a successful music artist with absolutely no connections no friends of music producers no nothing. This is those who watch or have watched a lot of music production videos on youtube
Things you need for the success of music artist
-gotta have squad/friends
-being able produce NOT sing/rap. Producing is way harder than singing/rapping just humm melodies for ones you find catchy and thats it
Thats pretty much it cya

All you need to do is just start the music, don't go looking for friends, when you are making great music your tribe will find you definietly

This is my thoughts. The saying "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together" I think rings true and we need to do BOTH. At the start, be alone, tends to me in your bedroom making music or something (for a lot of us). Put music online, gain traffic, eventually build some type of following. Within that following if you're lucky, the right people appear, then the team begins. Then you go together.

I've been trying to build a team for 6 years. I produced for people, I did features for people, I recorded people, I've been an engineer for 2 years and even tried to connect with people that do totally different genres BUT I haven't met a single person that I STILL enjoy making music with. There are 3 people that I really really enjoyed making music with but 2 of them quit and the other is also focusing on other stuff. So if you want to be safe just learn all the skills you need .. if you meet some nice people on the way, it's a bonus. If you need beats just pay a pro beatmaker. If you need a mix try different pro engineers and pay them well. Make sure you find people that actually like your music and LEARN from them. Don't be that guy that tries so hard to be everybodys friend... that's the main reason I quit working with soo many people

My problem is that I live in a country where a lot of people don’t like the music I like. And a lot of artists in my country don’t take this music thing seriously. So it’s hard to find artists to link with in real life. The internet is also tricky because everyone is clout chasing so if you don’t have an established brand, no one wants to fuck with you. It’s hard to find people who want to go far with this music thing.

So you need a network of people. I agree. When you have a network of people around and its genuine things move a lot faster. Your name gets brought up in rooms you're not in. Opportunities are easier to come by

What helped me on my music journey was to be clear and upfront on what I'm looking for. Whenever I worked with a producer or mix and mastered a clients vocals on a song, it helped build strong relationships because it came from a place of honesty which builds trust and credibility. Never be ashamed on what you like to fit in. Anime music (aka Anison) has some of the best sounds/tracks that are amazing! Big tip when it comes to making music is learning the "art of not giving a shit" When I stopped caring so much and being overly critical on my songs, I oddly made better music and pushed out more songs! I mostly work with clients now but being overly critical with your music will have you sit on songs for MONTHS! Finding your tribe takes time but you will find them faster if you embrace the things you like because that will attract others with the same interest

Hey dude cool that I saw this pop up. I really appreciated the content. I’m in a place where I don’t even know where to begin with my career, and only just finally made the decision to pursue my passion before I lose myself to a 9-5. And yeah you’re so right being alone in the music industry is literally impossible if you’re trying to get out there for the long game. Even from a general standpoint, having someone around that you can bounce off of can be infinitely better in creativity and consistency. Hope you find your team man 🤙

with nav, he didn't work in construction, he was just in the streets selling weed n shi like tht, he later tried an apprenticeship in electricity but quit since the manager told him no more headphones. his first time ina studio was with his uncle at like 13, and he taught himself how to make beats on reason, then once he was skilled he enough he would make beats for his homies like frost, trouble etc. he started rapping cause his homie told him the refernce he had sent him was too good for it not to be put it out and tht song was make your mind up. he then later made the melody for back-to-back with his homies ina studio with drakes people. he then put out other songs like diamonds, brown boy, ttd, on my own, take me simple, and his breakout hit myself. other than tht ur right about his connections, cause hes friend with derek wise who's friend with cash and the weeknd so when cash heard navs music starting to breakout he got his number from Derek

I wasted 10 years investing my time and money into a team that couldn’t see better for themselves. From production to studio equipment and all that good stuff. Just for them to envy the one that put them in position. Doing for others and putting people before myself really drained me. Mf’s don’t want to put the work in or feel like I was responsible for their upbringing. Dropped contact with every single one of them and started posting clips of my recent work. Now, they beg for validation as they try to get ahold of me to see what I’ve been up to. Point is, focus on yourself and YOUR ENERGY. What you put out will come back. Create value and ask the universe to surround you with like minded people that want to see you grow with no ill intentions.

These dudes only get ‘teams’ from signing record labels. No one works for free, even if you got the best music. Money makes the world go round, that’s why I’ve taught myself to mix music, shoot videos, market on social media. Because if I ever have any extra money as a starving artist, it’s gonna go towards advertising to grow my audience or upgrading my equipment. If you really love this craft you don’t need a whole bunch of people around you motivating you. From my experience that route is more distracting, I’ve written the best songs and done my best work by my lonesome with no other energies interfering. But I’m an introvert and not everybody is like me
@trill7402
@trill7402 4 ай бұрын
as an introvert ts is just an excuse. It's not even more so about ppl motivating you just supporting you and giving you connections that can boost/speed up what your already crafting
@justingracemedia
@justingracemedia 4 ай бұрын
@@trill7402 yea I gotchu, connections and support are definitely important.. but all of that will come naturally if you just lock in and focus for a few years. But jumping the gun and hiring a team before you can afford it is not a good investment as an independent artist. If you wanna be like any of the guys in this video and make no money off your music go ahead and sell out to a record label
@trill7402
@trill7402 4 ай бұрын
@@justingracemedia well I wouldn’t say “hire” but def just build connections. Producers, local artists, local managers, etc. Shouldn’t be too pricey. I see where u coming from but I feel like once your confident in your music making ability and kinda know how to properly market yourself that’s when u build connections
@justingracemedia
@justingracemedia 4 ай бұрын
@@trill7402 people don’t work for free unless they really believe in your growth, and you’re right once you’re confident in your music and learn how to market yourself, those people will start tapping in.. I’m just saying this video is misleading because most artists watching this have a lot of grinding on their own to do before people start wanting to help them for free. One person you didn’t mention who is richer, more popular, and still independent is Russ and he did all the groundwork on his own until the right connections started coming together. It is true connections are more valuable than quality music, so I would encourage rising artists to go to as many local shows as possible and start meeting people and putting your face in the scene

Great vid. Didn't need to alter your voice and hide your face. And also you right about the producing. It is definitely harder😭. Like anybody can make a decent beat this days.
