Here to add some 🧂 Proverbs 27:6 is not an excuse to speak the truth to people however we want. The truth can be offensive enough (double-edged sword). We’re called to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15) and love is patient, kind, holds no record of wrong, etc. according to 1 Corinthians 13. There’s also a time and place for everything under the Sun (Ecclesiastes 3) so without seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit, we may speak “out of pace” with Him and damage the impact of the truth we are trying to deliver. Lastly, bullying, condescending, and the like are not biblical means of correction and truth telling. Thanks for coming to my TED talk ✌🏾

@mackavelli423mockery step talk lol I like that! I’m not exactly sure what you meant by everything in your reply but there’s definitely the other side of things where the person receiving truth has to be willing to receive it while not picking up every offense that’s caused (Proverbs 19:11). I’ve been that person. I was speaking more on how he talked about delivering unbridled honesty. We have to be careful to not speak unbridled honesty with an unbridled tongue (James 1:26).

Yes, agree. I was listening through my headset, and the music intro startled me compared to the content. I was like, whoa, too loud. Hopefully, they'll read your comment too. It's a great message, but the audio needs to be better balanced.

my ex couldnt admit he was having an emotional affair with the women on the parkour team he was training privately & the receptionist at his job... i kept inviting the conversation to be open for discussion. he got frustrated & wouldnt tell the truth. i attempted to dump him over 50 times in the 8 month period we dated... he began displaying signs of closed off conversation after a month of our relationship starting. i confronted him several times. after chalking it up to my insecurity, he dumped me... i didnt see it coming. meanwhile all of these details became exposed. it ended very messy due to my inability to let it go that he was lying. i cant stop blaming myself for allowing this soul tie into my life. i keep apologizing to him. he will not respond.

In addition, I never sugarcoat. I can be too honest but not in a way that my words hurt someone. I just believe friendship should be 50/50. I'm definitely an extrovert. I talk a lot but when I talk.. I'm speaking light, encouragement & authenticity. On the flip side, I listen too without interrupting and welcome feedback & advice.

Wow, this is exactly what i needed to hear, which is how i feel after engaging fully in most of your teachings. This one, though, i played -> paused -> took notes...so many notes all throughout this powerful almost 12 minute video offering. The part about not just being this kind of Biblical Framework friend, but making sure the person "riding on the bus of my life" with me is the right person for that seat was the best way to sum this up. We can be the friend we need to be for the wrong person, and it will bring misery even while doing what is right. Which takes us back to Matthew 7:6 at the beginning of your lesson. Both need to be willing to Tell and Hear the truth. Honesty is so freeing -- John 8:31-32, also at the beginning of your lesson -- and brings such peace and calm to intimate relationships. Thank you!

Pastor Dharius you're talking about people who lie. Pastor my cousin was such a liar that she use to forget what she said. I just use to laugh at her because she sounded so stupid.

I never understood why some people are so quick to call someone a friend. I tell my daughter all the time that everyone is not your friend and to not use that word so loosely. Thank goodness she learned this fast.
