For me, it's not negative thoughts that are my biggest barrier - it's my positive thoughts. I always push through when I feel exhausted and need to rest, and when I do this I cause joints to dislocate and end up with serious tendon and muscle injuries that take years of physio to fix. So for me CFS recovery is really hard to fix. But thanks so much fo your video, it's given me some ideas for how to keep on getting better. Thanks so much! X
@ashleighhennessy Жыл бұрын
I think another thing this video has sparked up for me, is the fact that I can be physically resting but mentally still super stressed. I think my constant genuine positivity is in conflict with the amount of stress I am actually under, and maybe my body has given me this fatigue so that I actually stop and admit that I am stressed about my sisters addiction, I'm constantly worried she's gonna die, I've completely lost my trust in people and I'm finding being homeless and disabled in a. Wheelchair whilst studying for a masters degree really difficult. So I think i will hopefully overcome a big platou if I spend some more time meditating and acknowledging those stressor and the feelings i have around them, then they seem to get smaller and I suddenly feel less exhuatsed and more energized. I think to recover, I actually need to stop being so positive and slow down and process my pain, instead of ignoring it and ploughing through at 100 mph believing I can do anything. It's the only way to overcome this illness. I truly belive I will get better. Just need to acknowledge a few painful things first it feels like my body is screaming at me to process nx

It is true that I'm overachiever but I'm not overthinker. I agree I need to establish a structure and rigid adherence is counterproductive. Yet if I do something I can't, I get ill. I'm not stressing about it, I just observe. I either get ill or I don't, there is no range in between. Trying to adapt e.g. doing what I can't, was allways receipt for disaster. Your experience is from anxious point of view that doesn't apply to me. No butterflies, no fears etc.

No Big Deal approach to Life stressors helps me the most. Freaking out about life caused this for my body and then freaking out about symptoms got me stuck. I now focus on life and my mindset about life not my symptoms. Everything in Life Isn’t a big deal! That freak out thinking is what got me here in the first place. Were you freaking out about life when you got your symptoms?? Maybe?

Hi Miguel. Im little to tired in my my brain to take everything in but im having a very clear question. How do i recover from brainfog? I have started to take walks and dance and stuff like that. Im not afraid for symptoms and moving works really ok in small doses. But my problem is the brainfog. If i focus on someone talking. If im reading info ( even if its super interesting) everytime i need to focus on anything my brain get so full and after 10-20 min shuts down. If i then go to a quit dark place and lay down it gets better but then fast again shuts down when i have to focus again.

There are waves (of symptoms) and windows (of tome when you are better). As you increase your awarness through different practices you start recognizing patterns and triggers. And how to deal with the triggers (brain retraining for exemple) In time you, with practice, you recignize that the waves get smaller but they still might feel just as intense and the windowna of time when you are better it gets larger. And slowly still build from here until you get to the last stages of recovery where there is the integration back to life. And here are other challenges as prefferences vs limitations as if you been sick for a long time feels as everything is related to CFS but some things are just adjusments or the result of deconditioning and also, to recognize who you become in the meantime. And how things you like is a prefference not a limitation. (for exemple I can not run 10 miles as I did 5 years ago. That feels as a limitation. But maybe you are just not feeling you want to be a runner anymore. Is just a prefference). I hope this helps.

How long should I wait before increasing activity during an adjustment period? Should I wait until I’m fully refreshed? I usually walk 10,000 steps when I feel good, but feel fatigued the next day. I continue with light activities but reduce walking. Should I wait until I’m 100% recovered before doing another 10k steps, even if it takes 3-5 days? If I rest completely, I might recover faster (3 days), but staying active could stretch it to 5 days. Should I stay active or fully rest during recovery?
