Wow! Great lessons! I'm a bass player and have been struggling with counting rythyms for a long time. As soon as I watched 3 of your videos, I took out my Big Book of Staff Paper and wrote out a few pages of exercises! Wow what a difference it made after a couple of hours of practice! I will continue watching your site and will definitely recommend to other muscians! Thanks again for the Great lessons!

YOUR TEACHING APPROACH IS WONDERFUL. BUT THERE'S A RHYTHM I DON'T KNOW HOW TO COUNT OR EXPRESS IN A SYLLABLE FASHION AND THAT IS: AN EIGHTH NOTE TIED TO THREE SIXTEENTH NOTES OR THE OPPOSITE OF THAT: THREE SIXTEENTH NOTES TIED TO A SINGLE EIGHTH NOTE. THANKS, PAUL

Hi! When playing or jamming to a chord progression I have trouble counting the bars (1-2-3-4/ 2-2-3-4/ 3-2-3-4/ 4-2-3-4/ and so on)... I get lost after the 4th bar or so and then I don't know where I am anymore in the chord progression or in the 12 bar blues, especially when meandering, trying to play fast long licks or soloing; seems like paying attention to what I'm playing makes me forget about the rhythm and I loose track of it. Do you have any tips or exercices to finally get that? Thanmk you!!!

I've been playing piano, trumpet and now horn for years, always struggled with counting. just can't get it, big setback. there has got to be a trick.Anything to break the ingrained bad habit, cycle. It sets ne way back in the band . Fantastic tone, but if I can't count, big liabity. This might just work. Breaking out of prison....

I think you got it all in reverse. Pepperoni takes longer to say than pop. So pepperoni needs to be the crotchet and pop the semi-quaver. Either way folk you won’t get far unless you count properly.
