You could get netting that would slow the wind coming into the shed, a neighbour has them and there is no looking back you can also lift them up out of the way and they stop the rain from coming in.

Hi Bro,my Dad would always cover the mower bar in old oil to help preserve it from rust,soon cleans up once you start mowing next spring. Keep up the good work, really enjoy your honesty and down to earth farming. Certainly wouldn't want to farm in Ireland, can't bet the Waikato in in New Zealand 😁

I have had soft drive for over 20 years and never turn it off with the grab around the yard it takes the shock out over bumps even at low speed and I have never damaged a accumulator .My taps siezed on my first few loaders the newer electric ones I have to turn off to make the loader double active.

On our old quicke loader we had soft ride and on the joy stick there was two buttons and a little flick switch below the buttons. One worked the 3rd service and the other did nothing but the flick switch was the on/off for the soft ride. To be honest I left the soft ride on all the time and it done 4500h before needing a new accumulater. I just thought it was kinder on the tractor to just leave it on.

Once you have softride you'll never switch it off. The more weight you have on loader the better it works. I've had softride for 25 yrs, saves the front axle shock. And the operators back.

So much better having smooth ride on a loader, its a right pain in the back side without it as you know. I very rarely turn mine off on my quicke and it moves thousands bales of straw in the summer like it, only times I really turn it off is if I need to put downward pressure on the loader to push the loads up a bit or for example, lift the front axle off the ground a bit.
@seanmchugh42833 жыл бұрын
Adrian if your putting a switch in the cab for the soft-drive, be sure and put a light or a flashing light or a buzzer in too. It's very easy to forget these things are on or off when you get used to the convenience of not having to get out of the cab every time to switch it on or off.

Great job Adrian, soft drive makes it so much easier on man & machine. We have it on a similar Quickie / MF loader here for over 10 years. We rarely switch it off. Only time might be loading sand or muck where you are pushing hard into the load. Never had a problem with the accumulator failing. Happy New Year to you and yours.
@mikeman5843 жыл бұрын
Now I know what a soft drive is, those accumulators are like the ones you used to see on the old box Citreons back in the day. I think Rolls Royce also used them. Great video.

Hi Adrain, happy new year to you and the whole family. Great videos, keep up the good work! Regarding your shed issue, i feel the span is too wide for roller doors, but feel a pair of sliding doors would work very well. You will need two full length tracks, so one door slides across in front of the other. Only disadvantage is that you can ever only have half the shed open! Perhaps you might consider joining a new shed on to the front? More space for machines and the new doors would serve both! Or side entry!

Soft ride is a must on a loader, some of the alo loaders were wired ready for soft ride and had a little toggle switch on the front of the joystick, also some loaders the two accumulators are different capacities one in raise and one in lower circuit, you might want to check their the right way round, if not to rusty the capacities should be stamped in them, probs 0.75l and 0.5l approx. Cheers Adrian hope this was of some use👍
@martincraig19743 жыл бұрын

@madeljacky3 жыл бұрын
Good work on getting the soft drive to work on the loader, you stuck at it and figured it out, the simplest way I can describe how it works is basically if you cut the pressure pipe to a hydraulic lift ram, fit a T piece to join it again, the accumulator screws into the part of the T piece thats left so it acts like a shock absorber for the hydraulic oil, accumulators need pressurised with Nitrogen depending on the application and weight they are lifting to usually around 300- 350 bar (4410 - 5145 PSI), it will give you the pressure stamped into the side of the accumulator. JCB had it years ago on their diggers, they called it SRS which was Smooth Ride System and it was unbelievable good when you drove the digger on the road.

Cheers for the info mate 👌👍

You can get a quicke joystick with the soft drive switch built into it. My old loader only had 1 accumulater connected to the lift pipe.

There’s 2 switches on the joystick we have, one for the third action and the other does nothing. Presumed it was for a fourth action

@@IFarmWeFarm the one I had had two buttons, one for the third service, the other was connected up for anything, possibly for hydraulic quick attachment and a flicker switch under them, right to left for the soft drive. There is also soft drive on the 3 point linkage of that massey. Put 12k hours up on a 08 5455 then it all went wrong!🤑
@Eamo-213 жыл бұрын
