I'm sitting here grinning and enjoying every bit of what you are doing for this little TE20, I'm 74year old lady and I had one for my Olive grove (Western Aust) I'd come home from a 12 hour shift and my delight was to jump up on the tractor and take it down the grove. I also had the fun of bringing it back to life and painted it MF grey and trimmed in red.

Thanks for reviving memories of my youth. Born in 1945 to a father that went to war while his brother fought the fight at home to provide food from his market garden farm near Wrexham N. Wales. As I grew up in London, I would spend summer school holidays on uncle farm helping cousins take care of the Shire horses, the on one trip I ,et the Fergusion tractor, well I cried as I had seen truckloads of delivery horses being taken off to the knackers yard. thankfully uncle had kept his for light work and they would live their life out on the farm. Retiring to the orchard and when they passed would be buried there and a tree would mark their spot. SO, i did enjoy learning to drive a Fergie. I went on the operate all kinds of huge earther moving equipment, the largest being Tunnel Boring Machines.

Great to hear your stories lad, yes I’d imagine the grey Ferguson retired a lot of horses back then. My father held on to his for a good while after too. 👍

I couldn't watch it from start to finish Adrian cause as soon as she fired all I could think of was me own father God Rest him and the sound of this diesel 20. He loved his wee tractor and it brought back some memories of him and I got a wee bit emotional. Super job on the tractor and well worth taking your time over, the very best of luck with her and I hope your father enjoys many a spin on it. Thank you very much for stirring up memories of me own father, now 31 years gone. 💚

Adrian, this was a fantastic video. I enjoyed every minute of it. The sweet sound of that engine brought me back to my childhood in the 1960s when a neighbour used to come to us in Spring with his grey TVO tractor to cart manure. I used to love the smell of the exhaust fumes, which is probably what got to me! Even looking at the impression left in the mud by the big wheels or listening to the engine clicking as it cooled down was exciting. You’re so lucky to be able to do a restoration job like that.

You have done a lot of work on the old girl, they were a well designed simple little tractor and boy did they do some amount of work in this country, the amount of land that was reclaimed in this area with a little grey fergie ( often two chained together) is unbelievable, they dragged stones five times their own weight to the ditch in almost every field in the parish and probably every other parish in the country.

Happy 90th birthday to your dad. Only the strong amongst us get there good on him well done. The pantry shelves filled with bottles of the pure and the back wall stacked from floor to ceiling with crates of liquid to wash it down. As for the Ferguson like himself it was the best in its day. Now it's time for the Ferguson and himself to ease up. It's good that some of our ancestors had the sense to brew something to help us reflect on the bygone days. Happy 90th to your dad. 🥂☘️
