I remember the 80s bodybuilders very well, and Rich was a MAJOR force to deal with! His incredible work ethic, discipline, and sheer determination gave Lee Haney many restless nights, to be sure, and motivated Lee to be his best.

He is so right on incline bench. People always think going all way down is the right way but it kills the shoulders.

Great video. Lots or valuable tips to fine tune our routines for a "classic physique" which I think most guys want more than that exaggerated pro bodybuilder (of today...like Kai Greene) have. And the bloated bellies.
@274norbi7 жыл бұрын
He reminds me a bit of Lou Ferrigno. BTW, why does everyone hate the old bodybuilders like Mike Mentzer, Rich Gaspari, Vince Gironda and so on. It seems every video I watch on KZbin about old Bodybuilders, the young seem to pay them out. Without these guys, we wouldn't even know what Bodybuilding is. Not to mention, they were more scientific with their approach, as the gear was far worse quality. They were far more intelligent and elegant as athletes.
@Trendle2226 жыл бұрын
Yea totally agree man, Rich Gaspari first off had horrible genetics and worked his freakin ass off for years goin against Lee Haney, he is a real motivation to me
@Jay03216 жыл бұрын
The gear was pharma grade stuff... it was legal to get if you had a "friend" who could write scripts, while it wasn't open for just anyone to get, it was legit and they knew what they were getting. It wasn't until the BS baseball crap in the early 90's that it was put in the same category as narcotics and carried stiffer penalties and prison time, thanks to our politicians who like to regulate our bodies but still claim they want no government interference. Because of this everyone has to go "less than legal" means to acquire it and you don't know what you may be getting.

This is a true bodybuilder. If you follow his career you see how he changed his shape thru intelligent training to Win He was a beast in his day and had more heart than anyone competing then and now.

He had degenerative discs in his neck which caused some paralysis on his right side and forced him to retire from competitive bodybuilding. That was about 20 years ago and he's now in his mid 50's, so being able to do incline presses at all is good enough.
