South Beach, Ballina, around 1958 as a kid, ( 14 - 15) using a tailor rig, 3 x 4o hooks, slab of mullet. Just a tad over two pounds a whiting. ( not King George) Finger in the gills, tail was past my elbow, haven't remembered the actual measurement. Have never caught a KG.
