Another thing to note is that the battery degradation is not linear. That top 20-30% you’ll wear out with 500-600 cycles is the longest lasting part, it starts to plummet after that until about 40% ish left I think.
@GaryBeltz5 жыл бұрын
"Your iPhone works...but only when it's plugged in." that actually holds true for ANY device with a rechargeable battery. I had an old IBM ThinkPad from 1994 where the battery go to that point had to get new ones. I used it for school so I always had a spare. My brother had a Dell Laptop with Windows Vista that did that same thing after so many years and the one department manager at work had a Dell with an Intel Core i3 with the same issue the difference on the laptops is that you usually get specific warnings from Windows and the battery light will flash continuously even though the charger is connected.

After almost 4 years my iPhone 6s Plus went down to 79% battery capacity. This is with regular use and no battery replacements. I don't recommend you go this long without a battery change. At the end my phone had 3 hours of usage when being used by the end. I'm a lot nicer to my battery now that I have an iPhone 11 pro. It's also a big contrast with my last phone. It's nice not having an almost dead phone after 3 hours. One thing I've decided to give up is playing Roblox on my phone. It is a huge battery hog and probably wears it down fast.

What about when your battery stays at a certain percent for like an hour? For example when I was about to go on a road trip my battery was at 25% for a VERY long time
@AndrewBrowner2 жыл бұрын
if something makes the % drop like say the phone getting cold, or a heavy draw on the battery like streaming netflix on max brightness it wont reevaluate the % when the temp is increased or the load taken off as if it did people would complain of their battery magically charging while its unplugged, so it just stays reading this % until the phone eventually uses up the battery to the point its really at that % at which point it will continue to decrease.. common here in canadian winters your phone will drop to 1% in the cold but if it doesnt shut down and restart then it stays at 1% when you warm it up and can be on 1% for hours because after the battery is warmed up it might actually be at say 40%

So the reason your battery health is as bad it is because youre not using the apple wall adapter and cable that came with your iphone's box. These cheap knock off brand cables and adapters you buy that aren't made by apple don't properly convert the voltage to safe low wattage that apple wall adapters do. so next time you replace your iphone battery do what i said and you will never need to replace your battery again. I have been using apple wall adapters and cables only and my iphone 6 plus that i bought back in 2015 still works very good after all those years and no replacement needed.

My second hand iPhone 6s is at 69% battery health and it drains really fast. From 100% to 0% will probably take an hour and a half. My new iPad lasts over a day and I use it constantly. I’m not sure where to get my battery replaced, I want a reliable place.

I have two iPhone that I got from a old friend. I have a 2018 android ad my main but I still like using my iPhones aswell. I have a 2009 iPhone 3GS that works just fine but if you use it when it drops by any % it dies and the screen shows lines. Sometimes I can turn the phone on again and the same thing happens. It will work fine on it's own for a few minutes, It works just fine on standby. But for me to use it without it dying I have to keep it plugged in. I also have a 4S like I said. It doesn't do anything unless it's plugged in, and when it is it works for awhile and then locks up and I have to restart it by the button or disconnect and reconnect the power. (Killing the phone and powering it on again because the battery is toast) Also the 4S always says that it is at 100% when plugged in. The 4S refuses to connect to any internet but can connect to data but my SIM card won't fot with it. Also I can't factory reset the 4S because when plugged into the computer it doesn't have enough power to tune on and boot loops. I use my 3GS as a 2nd phone and it works just fine if you don't count the shut offs.
