I also have a St 1300, only mine is a little older from 2002 but with ABS. The bike is excellent on the road, I often travel on long routes and I can't wait for it to warm up and for spring and summer to come. my next trip should be 650km. The Bike is a good runner in both dry and wet conditions. I recommend it.. 👍

I have told you before I have a 2004 Honda ST 1300, and I love my bike! I have tried to tell my friends how fast and powerful this bike is, and they never believe me until they ride. I have juiced guys on 600 sport bikes to a certain speed, I wish I could rev up to 14000, if that was the case they never catch me!... lol blessings to you and your family stay and ride safe.

I never owned an ST1300 but I worked for a Honda dealer. We sponsored a group ride every month during the riding season and if I was not riding my VFR I would pull and ST off the used bike line and ride that. What a fantastic bike. It's as comfortable as any Gold Wing and as sporty as my VFR. I wish I had one.

Welcome to the World of the ST1300. I bought my first ST1300 in November 2005, off the dealership floor. By 2008, I was doing a 125 mile a day commute on it. Due to the high mileage I had on the 2005 by 2012, I bought a wrecked 2004 ST1300, that had 31K miles. I fixed it, a year later (2013), bought a 2010 with 1.5Kmiles, fixed that, in 2014, bought another wrecked 2004 with unknown miles on it, fixed it. Then in 2015, I bought a 2012, off the dealership floor. So, with the five ST1300s, that I have owned: 2005 - 174.3K miles (sold to a son, 2013), 2004#1-37K miles (I still own), 2010 - 100K miles (sold to a son

I've done every autobahn and every mountain pass in Europe on my St. The latest top tourers might be 5% better but cost 800% more than my 2004 model. I've fitted sat nav, heated grips and seat and a simple gadget to hold the throttle open like a cruise control. I can't justify changing it for anything else. It's absolutely superb.

Awsome! i own a ST1100 1999 and it is just fabulous planning on a 700 km trip ( 437.5 miles ) ( one day trip then return a week later ) in early June. i look so much into it. Mind you i live in Québec , Canada... so we are denied from riding because of the snow and the minus 15 F temperature. But spring is here wooohooooo!

I have this bike and use it almost daily, and it is indeed an excellent bike. I live in Dubai and the temperature sometimes reaches 45 degrees Celsius. However, it works perfectly despite the high temperatures in the summer. I got it a year ago from Copart auction. And this bike has excellent places for storage, two large boxes on the right and left, and a back box, and it holds a lot of things. I even go to the Hypermarket and buy many things, and they all fit into it very well. As for the extras, I installed a Celsius Gauge on it, as well as a digital electronic speedometer, as well as gear Indicator, as well as tire pressure monitoring device.

On the windshield i have swapped out the stock with larger but swapped back, the stock shield is just fine and i really like running it up when i get caught on long ride in storm, down low in nice weather on short rides, bike handled a torrential storm remarkably well, as long as I'm moving i hardly even get wet, love my 2007, have farkled it up a bit. Having a windshield problem but rarely use it so no problem really, have to be careful or i will get a speeding ticket, thought i had electrical problem but all it was was loose battery connection, left front fork leak but cleaned it with Seal Mate, now dry fork. Cruise control well i use the friction type on the throttle grip, works fine

Change out to Delkevic or Two Brothers exhaust then you’ll get Honda growl, but also dissipate the heat coming off OEM exhaust as an inherent thing with ST 1300’s. Put a Givi trunk with back rest and the lady should be comfortable. The attenuation of after market exhaust with keep your speed creep less in urban environs.

I have the 2006 ST1300PA and love it. I went for a 890km (553 miles) ride one day last summer and could have kept on going. You see some guys on youtube doing a lot more on their ST1300 and that bike seems to just eat up the miles. I think the excellent wind protection really helps with rider fatigue plus I threw a sheep skin on the seat for extra comfort. Thanks for posting your review. Would love to see more on your Android riding system (I'm intrigued).

Had one of these for a while, turbine silky smooth power! My only concern with an older machine would be replacing old brake line. There’s a lot on the bike and could be costly! I once “popped out for breakfast” and ended up doing 450 mile round trip!🤣 it’s that comfy 👍🏻

Iv owned a Yamaha FJR 1300 06 model since new IV done just over 165kms on her it's never missed a beat and probably 1 of the best or better motorcycle's IV owned in my 65 years on the planet iv never ridden the Honda ST 1300 but have owned and ridden a few V4 Honda bikes a VF1000 86 or 85 and the VFR750 and the VFR800.both very amazing and smooth reliable motorcycle's if i were to downgrade to something smaller and lighter it probably would be one of those last 2 VFR bike's because of my age these days i never use the power or what the FJR was designed to do and that's tour long distances across the country at a pretty quick pace as iv aged and slowed down iv come to the conclusion that because of the weight and also sometimes carrying my partner pillion passenger it's just getting a bit to much especially in stop start heavy traffic whilst out on the open roads it's a great motorcycle that will probably or definitely outlive me have you got any other suggestions on what kind of bike' And model might be worth checking out if I decided to get if i was to get further down the track stay safe and upright love from Australia 🦘🌏

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm really narrowing down on the ST1300 as my next bike. I like the mix between sport bike and touring bike. My brother has a Goldwing and it just seems a little too big and heavy and sport bikes don't have the storage I want and want a little more comfortable seating position. My last bike was a used Honda Pacific Coast PC800 I picked up not running at a garage sale for $500. Fixed it up and rode it for a few years, then sold it for $2500. Opinions are polarized on the PC800 since it sorta looks like a big scooter but I really liked its storage space and features. My biggest gripe with it was it needed another gear to be smooth at highway speeds. At 70-75 mph, RPM was way too high. Anyway, thanks again for sharing the video. Did you, or can you, do a video on that Android Play system? I'm a sucker for tech gadgets. What is the model number and what does it display? Just GPS navigation data or does it tie into the bikes systems at all?

Yamaha FJR1300: • Engine: 1,298 cc, inline-4 • Power Output: Approximately 145 hp (108 kW) @ 8,000 rpm • Torque: 138 Nm (102 lb-ft) @ 7,000 rpm • Fuel Consumption: Around 18-20 km/l under typical riding conditions, making it a bit more efficient than the ST1300. Key Differences: • Power: The FJR1300 produces more power, with about 145 hp compared to the ST1300’s 125 hp. • Fuel Efficiency: The FJR typically achieves better fuel consumption at around 18-20 km/l, as opposed to the ST1300’s 15-17 km/l. The FJR’s inline-4 engine is more modern in terms of technology and tends to deliver both more power and better efficiency, making it a strong competitor in the sport-touring category. Yamaha’s focus on performance, while also maintaining reasonable fuel efficiency, has made the FJR1300 a popular choice for riders looking for a balance of power, range, and efficiency.

So the tire is on backwards I just don't really want to take the time and energy to switch it it has yet to present me with a problem but the person I bought it from put it on backwards I did the front one correct when I did it in my garage obviously but I did not put the back one on it was already on when I bought the bike so I figure I'll just wait till it's worn out I don't ride it in the rain much so it shouldn't present a problem problem

I own and ride a 2008 and i would say no they are not worth it now. I have had to replace the alternator which is a pain. All the coolant hoses some were brittle and just fell apart and now i need to go in and clean the 5 way T as the bike is running bad. I have oil leaving from the front hose and from the swing arm pumpkin which is a big job to change the seals on. Im looking at the gen 3 FJR1300 it has everything the st1300 is missing. Electronic suspension. digital speedo. full led light set. cruise control. 6th gear. gear indicator. It is lighter and faster at 145 bhp compared to the 110 of the st1300. It looks great without the panniers and the mirrors can be folded for filtering. Highway pegs are easy to add for long distance riders and the oil filter is easy to access. I can get a 2018 fjr for 6k or a 2013 st for 6k. In short they are just old and get hot leading to issues. The negative on the fjr is it wont hold a heavy top box unless you swap the rack. not aware of many other problems with it. A low mileage FJR would be 6 years old. A low mileage st1300 would be 11 years old. St1300 are outdated
@GodzillaGoesGaga
@GodzillaGoesGaga Ай бұрын
I think it all depends on what condition the bike is in. If it’s not been looked after yes might not be worth it but if it has been garaged and looked after you can get a bargain. The new FJR1300 is probably the nearest equivalent you can get now to replace an ST1300 but if it were me I’d look at a Goldwing at this point for that kind of money.

Soooo Typical..... Yamaha invents a powersports market and everyone else copies them. If you want the real sport touring bike, get the Yamaha..... Everything else is just an imitation..attempting to copy Yamaha.... Honda missed the design intent and attempted to make a gold wing out of the FJR. What you get is a heavier bike, that is not agile, nor as powerful as the FJR.
