I have a 4S Nazgul 5. The first time I looked at the video from the camera , I knew something was off..... Used the provided camera controller to get into it's menu, reset a lot of stuff.. I think it was set to PAL, and had other odd settings. Changed several things, got my saturation just the way I like... now, when others look at it's video, they always exclaim how gorgeous it looks. Bright, colorful, but not over-saturated or with artifacting. I'd bet getting into the cam menu and checking those will solve that blue noise in the shadows. Agree on the battery pad... the oem is not good, Ummagrip works great. Also, flying at night is AMAZING. Color and sensitivity is outstanding! Really cool experience in twilight. Have to admit, after crashing many, many times... I have yet to break any single thing on this quad. I'm really impressed! I paid $165 for mine, without receiver. I took my arm bumpers off, as the 'squishy' TPU kept me from properly tightening, and keeping the motor screws tight. Plus, after a couple of weeks, they warp down and away from the arm, and look sloppy. As for the Antenna jack spinning loosely, the fix is to use 2 regular and 2 star washers, and tighten them to the TPU with Blue locktite or similar. This will semi-permanently anchor it so that that connector will stay put. even after crashes. As always, Joshua, thanks for what you do!

I have the nazgul 4s as well and I gotta agree with the stuff u said. I got a gel pad with mine, and about the camera, after resetting the settings and switching it to PAL, looks beautiful. One thing I would recommend with whoever has the nazgul 4s is that: stay with 4.0.6, in filters disable gyro 2 and 1, dterm 2. Set ONLY dterm 1 lowpass 1 on, to biquad with min 60hz and max 175. These settings on top a good tune makes this quad a dream to fly.

Flying the Nazgul5 6S for a few weeks now, ordered it because it costs less than the components combined and all the components are really nice. Banggood advertises it having 1700kv motors but mine came with 1800kv and with the higher kv the Nazgul props work nicely, though I would rather recommend something like the Gemfan 51499 or the HQProp 5141. The weight difference between the Cidora and the Nazgul5 is propably down to the LEDs on the Cidora illuminating whatever is *above* it (??) and the skids. Propwash handling with stock settings is abysmal as demonstrated by your flight footage. With JESC and RPM filters however it flies amazingly smooth (rigid frame and good bearings). I love the picture of the Ratel which is right up there with the best FPV cams money can buy and I did not notice discolored shadows. The FPV antenna surprised me with good performance. Adding a GPS was easy, too. Pro: Solid components, perfect build quality, price. Con: Antenna mount not perfect, needs some configuration, i.e. current and voltage sensor calibration. Would recommend, best value you can get.

i have found on iflight frames that the rear of the carbon on the top plate where the bat cables come through is shaped exactly like the xt60 connector and if you shorten the cables you can slide the xt60 right inside of the U shaped curve and it will snap in and hold very securely. Only prob with that is in the event of a hard crash and battery ejection you risk damaging you xt60 but it makes for a very clean look and easy one handed plug-ins. WIN SOME LOOSE SOME

Not a fan on the Caddx Ratel on this and it's slightly out of focus out of the box. I have since converted mine to DJI FPV via GEPRC Mk4 HD5 frame and it still flies great with the HD FPV. Succex E stack and Xing E motors are good value components without the more pricey bling.

Thanks for the new tune. I'm only about 6 batteries worth of flights into this "real" quad. I've been flying a Tinyhawk s for a few weeks and having a great time. What are the correct settings for the current meter? I have 1800mah racedayquads batteries but the OSD was only showing 380ish mah used after a 6 min flight. Also like the voltage might be off a bit because when OSD showed 3.5 in a stable hover, my external meeter showed 3.7 after landing.

You might have talked about this in your video and I just missed it, but I noticed you were flying the Cidora on 6s and being that quad comes with 2450kv motors I was wondering if you flew it with a throttle limit or did you just compensate the throttle manually while you flew it. I have 2208 2450kv xing motors on my Rooster and I fly it with 5s, no throttle limit, and full on rippin and my motors are just slightly warm. So I'm confident with flying 5s on 2450kv motors with 5146 Dal props. But I would be hesitant to fly with 6s full on rippin. By the way I'm also getting 3:45 flight time on 5s so efficiency of my quad isn't a problem on 5s either. Thank you JB!

Great, thanks so much for this vid. For a newbie noob like me, What remote and goggles does one have to get with this drone?
@Jimmyfpv_4 жыл бұрын
Your comment is 8 months old, so you probably already know. But I'll answer for any other person who might find this useful. Goggles: Any ones that work with analog signal will work. Goggles pick up the signal, there is no binding involved. Which ones to get, well, there are many options that vary greatly depending on how much you are willing to spend. If you are a newbie, I would recommend the Eachine EV 800D because they have diversity, built-in DVR and can be converted into a monitor. But there are many many options and you should investigate on your own. Remote: Depends on which transmitter you order it with. If you chose the Frsky option, then you need a radio from that brand or other which is compatible. A good option for FrSky radio is the Taranis Q X7. Another one which is a bit cheaper but also very good is the Taranis X9 lite. If you decide to go for the Crossfire option, then you either need a TBS radio or to install an external TBS transmitter into your controller. I hope this helps.

Another thing which I dont think was mentioned, Nazgul is an XL5 V4 True-X and the Cidora is the SL5 V1 which is somewhat a squished-X, i say somewhat, as it s not as squished as most squished x frames, qavr, alien, reverb. Still its squished enough to classify as a freestyle squished x. Hi guys, I am checking just now if the arms of both the SL5 and XL5 V5 frames are the same. I think they are, but I cannot find exact measurements, do any of you know for certain?

I don't think you went heavy enough on the props my brother, those hq 4.3 pitch props are pretty weak gemfan windancer 5043 are a better pairing I think. What do you think about this?

I think the stock props were too weak, stuck some juicy props on and its much better

Would you say the Nazgul is still the trusty budget BNF to beat even now in 2020, or are there any other obvious choices?

Hello JB, i have a question. I activated the bidirectional dshot on my Nazgul5 and follow all the settings in your video then save and reboot, i even buy a JESC firmware for BLheli S ESC, but when i get back to configuration tab, the bidirectional dshot is not activated... . Maybe the board of Nazgul5 is not supported by bidirectional dshot?? Please help. Thanks.

LOL - I had a few flights with the Nazgul before my brain kicked in and realised airmode wasn't on. Flew nicely afterwards.

Josh one question I have is can I change the feet off the cidora and put them on the nazgul? I was going to purchase the ptu for the nazgul for more protection on the screws

Antenna placement underneath the arms? I thought you meant in a 90° angle. That’s not „underneath“ tho. I’m confused.

Hi, i have a problem with my Nazgul 5. I cant Switch the frequence of the VTX by pressing the butten, even If i follow the Instructions correctly. It just jumps back to a speciffic frequence. I use the Fatshark Attitude v 2. It would be nice If someone could help me. And sorry for my bad english

Hey Joshua great video !!! Can I copy & paste these settings you have for the Nazgul 5 in the CLI ? I just flashed my Nazgul 5 to Bettaflight 4.1.4. I paid for the JESC four pack Blheli license. Is it still okay to copy paste these settings ?

Would changing my motors on my 6s build from 1800kv to 2150kv help with a heavier cine setup? I have a build where I’m trying to hold 2 GoPros and 1800mah battery and the 1800kv Xings seem Kinda weak and struggle with the extra weight. While it is a cine setup, I am still looking to do advanced acro.

How do you determine the prop pitch you need? More aggressive pitch equals better freestyle?

Can you please review the HGLRC Sector5? I know it's similar to the Nazgul in terms of specs and price, but I wanted to know if you think it's better, worse, or about the same

Ps cut the nazgul rx and vtx antenna mount in half. Now I mount the rx on top of the stack and the vtx fits in the back perfect. Using different vtx

Yes, Grommets are rubbish, especially on FatShark 18650 holders they just cut through the wire and mid-air black screen! Both mine and a friends failed within a day of each other when bought at a similar time too.
