If you're not a beginner and thinking about buying this just build a slammed Squirt V2 with FPVCycle 2203/4 on 6S (or similar motor if you can find em). I think all the real advantages from the Protek35 are the 2203.5 motor and short prop guards not the larger prop. Slammed squirt with pancake motors on 6s solves all these issues while still being really tough, easy to work on and a proven system. You could also look at the FPV Cycle Cinesplore with 2203.5(ish) motors.

I bet that I’d give up on the hobby if I didn’t have that 85x (flying 5” monster builds now after only 4 months in:). Great video and one of your most entertaining:) I did not know that original whoops had flared ducts with grooved props. Hmmm... (fires up CAD program)

Did you end up finding the go pro before a mower got it? It sounded lighter after the stair crash. I thought "wow, it sounds like the voltage had really sagged and the crash allowed it to recover". I just got a Protek 35, a new pair of DJI goggles and a DJI FPV controller (the first version). Just fyi, the air unit on mine had a 90 degree up board added to the usb port (I had no issues with the FC port) . Mu usb 90 degree thingy didn't work as installed, in fact it didn't fit into the frame and was sitting on a bit of an angle from the factory (ouch!). I ripped it out. To remove 90 degree board I took off the top of the frame and one side of the prop guards. Like an idiot I put the quad back together after I activated the air unit. When it was time to bind the goggles and transmitter I couldn't hit the little button (I'm old, I can't see that little button) so I took off the top again so I could get my hotdog finger in to push the link/bind button. Also in the videos I watched they just show binding the goggles but not the activation. Goggles activation videos showed activation showing up on DJI assistant 2. Will it didn't. Activation did not come up on DJI Assistant 2, just firmware updates. If the goggles are not activated you can not link them to the air unit. I ended up linking the Protek 35 to another pair of goggles that were activated with a DJI FPV quad (I had to fire up the goggles and find in the menu where you switch from DJI FPV quad to DJI air system) then I activated the new goggles with one of my DJI FPV quads and a mobile device. I was running low on time and didn't check if the switch for DJI Air system or DJI FPV quad showed up after activation but it certainly wasn't present before activation. I don't know if downgrading the firmware on the new goggles would have solved the issue. I had zero issues activating and binding the transmitter. I'm not complaining, this is purely fyi for anyone that purchases the same or a similar setup so they will know what to expect and possibly have a solution.

For Easter this Year you should invite a select few participants from your FPV crew and do an Easter egg hunt for lost Gopros and quads on the property 🐰 Also this video has solidified my decision i made a few months ago when I went with the Rotor Riots version of the Shen drones Squirt cinewhoop. I have also crashed it many times and the only time the ducts cracked was when I was flying it outside pretty hard when it was 15 degrees out and crashed into the asphalt. It literally only cracked the foot area that are on the newer style ducts and it was an easy hot glue fix and black electric tape and you can't even tell. I have bashed it up quite a bit and I must say it still even looks brand new. You should never have to replace anything except ducts if you own the rotor riot cinewhoop. Are the effects of the prop wash with ground effect less if you're not running airmode just motor idle. I've been stepping away from airmode and loving it

I have the Protek 25 Analog. I had about 50 flights in and hit a tree. It fell in the street from about 15' up and broke the right prop guard. I replaced it no problem. Then my camera and VTX died. I sent it into the iFlight USA repair center and they replaced the camera and VTX. Today I took it out for the first time since the repair and it flew great; I am not flying with a HD camera. I really like how this drone flies, but I agree with JB that the prop guards are not the most durable.

Can I ask what analog receiver you used and how you connected it? I just bought the 35 and a fly sky receiver and being new to this, I can’t figure out how to connect the flysky receiver to the flight controller.
@HankSweeney3 жыл бұрын
@@chriswegener3373 I bought mine BNF, so the receiver was already in the drone. I am using the TBS Crossfire that came in it, so I am assuming it is the nano. Usually, the wiring diagrams for iFlight products are available on both iFlight's website and dealers as well. I looked at all of the places I have gotten iFlight wiring diagrams from and none of them had wiring diagrams for the iFlight Protek 25 or 35 PNP. Maybe JB can help you out. Sorry I couldn't help.

hey buddy, you did a video on how difficult it was for some people to link the freybot lumeniere drone from getFPV and i wonder if you got called out on it somehow, i cant find that video anywhere, and this is still a problem! i really thought you were out front on this issue, and was wondering why there is no follow-up, i am going on 2 months of not being able to link. apart from how lame THAT is, yeah some of us could use a hand with linking still, not that it isnt a lovely paperweight!

Umm I don't think I made that video. I think you're mixing me up with someone else. I've never owned that drone.

Did you find that Gopro? As for these quads, nah... I'll stick to my 5 and 7 inch open props ones. They are not bad, just not for me.

Bob Roogis 2203 motors where designed for cinewhoops originaly. I think he came up with that size
@enricob3 жыл бұрын
Thank for the review! Do you think there is a noticeable flight time improvement changing 1508 motors in a 3 inch cinewhoop with some 2203 (tmotor or xing)?
@JoshuaBardwell3 жыл бұрын
I think 2203 is overkill for three inch. 2004 might be good.

@@JoshuaBardwell is the efficiency improvement noticeable on the 2004 than the 1508?
