If Brook could see and hadn't suffered the same injury previously, I believe he'd have fought til the end no matter what. McClellan quit on one knee against Nigel Benn or did he? Would it have taken a life threatening injury to Brook for some people to show him compassion and respect? It's madness.

D Grea I thought that, everyone been on bellew a dick since the Haye fluke
@SR1Records7 жыл бұрын
It wasn't a fluke against Haye. Haye's done. Everyone who knows a lot about boxing knows that. If you think Haye still has a chance at the top level then you'e deluded! The last time Haye fought anyone decent was in 2012! And that was only against Chisora. His previous fight before that was against Klitschko in 2011! That's 5 or 6 years since he fought at the top level, and at the age of 36? Nope! Far too old to not compete at the top level for 5/6 years! But i do agree that Bellew became a dickhead after beating Haye. It doesn't even make sense because Bellew kept saying that Haye was passed it, yet when he beat him he was going on like he beat the best guy in the division! You can't have it both ways! You can't say that the guy is passed it and then brag after you beat him, making out that you beat the best guy in the division! He was passed it! Haye is finished. He wants another shot at Bellew partly for pride, and partly to get one last payday. Bellew will fight Haye next. And he'll win again, and if Haye has any sense left he'll retire!

Eubank Sr. is probably the most eloquent figure in boxing today. I did not expect to watch that entire interview, but I did. He explained why he is against quitting and he was insightful, albeit a bit brutal. He masterfully explained how greatness usually comes from people finding themselves in a situation where their life is on the line and they go against the normal human instinct for self preservation. Eubank Sr., is doing the right thing by being less of a grandstander and letting his son keep the spotlight when they are together, but also playing the role of boxing wise man and chief cheerleader for his son when doing solo interviews like this.

@JC-ko1bp7 жыл бұрын
Nothing but the truth spoken by Snr. If boxing was about beating people up who you can easily beat, and quitting when you take damage, then it'd be for everyone. It's not a sport for the "normal" man. It's normal to want to preserve your health, it's nothing to be frowned upon, but you make the decision when you sign the contract to get in there, for millions of pounds. You're paid huge amounts to compensate you for the risk you are taking, especially at top level. You can't have your cake and eat it, and quit when it gets tough and run away with the money. If you don't want to risk injury that's fine, it's sensible, so don't get in the ring. You're not forced to get in there, Once you agree to get in you have taken that risk and committed, you have made your bed, now you must lay in it. Staying in there while you're on top and Quitting once you've taken damage removes all the risk from the sport, so he's basically stealing the money, the publics money. I have no problem with a fighter quitting once, you don't know if it's in you until it happens, so I have no problem with brook quitting, but once it's happened he should leave the sport. Snr is right that his reputation is ruined, I've heard nothing of him since, Hearn isn't even bothered with him, and rightfully so, no disrespect to him, he should take his money and enjoy his family while maintaining his health.

I see what he's saying about kell quitting. It's an argument either way yes his eyesight but the other is it still only takes 1 punch to win a fight.
