I was working at Circle K down from a venue called the Mason Jar one night when I look up and see Wayne Static. This was before they were more well known. I shouted "TAKE THE HOLD!", and he looked at me with a big grin. He tried to convince me to lock up the store and come see the show (I wanted to so bad! Got called in that night before I learned they were playing there). A few hours later he came back and brought me a signed shirt and some other swag. Chatted with me for a while too. I was already a fan. His actions just made me love them more. About a year later I'm at Celebrity Theatre to see them and I hear, "Glad you could make this one" turned around and it was him! He remembered me. He even asked how life at circle k was going. He really made me feel special. Miss that legend.

@@stryctn9yne13 The story that Edsel Dope tells is that he was on tour with Wayne prior to the overdose. The tour wasn't selling too great, so Edsel tried to convince Wayne to get back with the other members, thinking that Wayne's wife was creating a Yoko Ono situation. Wayne was receptive to the idea but Edsel soon realized his wife wasn't the problem, it was the drugs. So the plan was to put Wayne in rehab and then put the band back together, but then the overdose happened. If that story is true, this is probably less of a cash grab and more of an attempt to fix up past mistakes and move forward.

I was like how is he even doing that but if you look closer you can see his fingers sticking out the bottom

Covered this song and used it to close our set 5 years ago so when this song hit my adrenaline was through the roof , was able to rage one last time for the night , even though by this point I was dehydrated as fuck , would definitely see static x again,

Was at the Cleveland show. Seeing them was a dream i thought i lost forever come true. Even got one of Koichi's picks and half a set list. Went a day after my bday. Never saw them with Wayne. Static X was part of my music therapy growing up. Rough teen years. They helped me Push through It.

Excellent performance. Was always one of my favorites growing up and I am super impressed by the comeback. Rip Wayne

You know at first I wasn't so sure how I was going to feel about along with many other fans but never had any real doubts. Now if it didn't sound anything like Static-X then I wouldn't be writing this right now. Honestly I'm really liking it and am just happy that Static-X is still out there killing it!!!

Wayne deve estar orgulhoso, ser representado como um Cyborg por um vocalista tão talentoso. Ficou perfeito. Bela homenagem, não acho que foi desrespeito. Wayne realmente é a cara da banda... ♥️

In 2000 in Tampa FL I saw Dope open for Static X who opened for Powerman 5000. I was the only one of my friends there who knew who static x was and had never heard of Dope. No one that I knew really liked Dope that much, but I actually thought they were pretty good and when they opened and were all head banging their long ass dreads or whatever they had going on with their hair, it had me fckn pumped immediately. Never really thought Dope or even Static x would be around as long as they have and going as strong as they are. I sure as shit would have never thought that the bands that I was seeing that night 23 years ago would have the events and merging that they had with Edsel taking Wayne's place after his death. This shit brings me back man. Would love to see them again. I'm 40 now...don't know if I'll ever go to a live show again, but hopefully one day I can. These bands were the soundtrack of my senior year in high school and for many years after that.

I remember that show, I'd won tickets on 98rock back when calling in was still a thing 😣.It was at Janus Landing back when it looked like someone's backyard. Static X was hands down the best band. Good times.

@@ewarde7905 Good times for sure, it's crazy how short that Metal era from 97-2005 lasted, a lot of other genres are still going/get rediscovered. I miss it so much 🎶🤘🎵 *I was 8 in 1997.

Sure playing in that gear has gotta suck after awhile, but dammit it looks dope as hell. Almost like Wayne is back as a cyborg to rock tf out all over again! Definitely gotta see these guys if they come to my hometown.
