Hey Trev! I think the reason that your speedometer stopped reading out your speed was because your pitot tube froze over. It is used to measure the airflow around the aircraft, giving you your airspeed. To avoid this in the future, you can turn on the pitot tube heat switch which is located near the light control panel, it has a little green cap on it. Great video as always!

Per your comment “they probably don’t want you using autopilot on a test” comment-when you checkride for a new rating you’re expected to be an expert of all things on your plane. If autopilot is operational the examiner is supposed to assess your knowledge and ability with that unit. My students all use the AP above 1000 AGL on all rides to show their knowledge and ability of the unit.

Hey Trev! If you find yourself having a hard time holding altitude or climbing in a small plane like the 172 you can try leaning the mixture a little bit. As soon as you reach an altitude of 3500 ft. you can reduce the mixture inch by inch and watch how your RPM reaches a higher value. The mixture is essential for a perfect combustion with the surrounding pressure. Love the vids as usual!

You're right, you are not supposed to get the stall warning at the end, if you are going to do that in bigger planes you might risk breaking the landing gear or at least some tires, i've seen you do that a couple of times, it's because you're coming in from too high and then losing power to quickly, when you're lowering your speed you wanna pitch down at the same time to keep your air speed up because if you don't you're gonna lose airspeed very quickly and then come in too slow.

@02:35 you usually want to intercept at a 45° angle you were almost at 80~90° there. @12:20 that's wrong. if u're offline, you don't get passive money from planes with crew. Only when you fly they fly too. @23:45 ROL means roll if I remeber right, and that basicly keep wings level and can be used with other modes like VS @27:20 you can see that it's -5°C, what is happening to you is called ICING xD you need to turn heaters on for pito to get back your airspeed... hopefully the temp went up aroune 4° so the ice melted.

You just need to make sure that all the parts of your plane are in the green (no yellow or red) for that particular plane to start generating money for you. The radio thing may not have been a bug. You can tune to multiple radio signals at once, for navigation, communication, etc. There are ATIS radio channels for larger airports that constantly broadcast their weather information. If you tuned to two different ATIS radio channels and didn't mute one or both of them, I could see that causing what you were seeing.
@ZackFrisbeeКүн бұрын
If you're doing an instrument approach you can configure (to flaps 10 degrees) half a mile from the final approach fix for a non-precision approach and when the glide slope touches the first dot above the middle on a precision approach. Then you bring it in at 80 knots until you see the runway in which case you land at your normal speed :D as you get closer to the runway on an instrument approach the deflections on your glideslope and localizer will get more sensitive so you can correct with smaller corrections incrementally. And if you're hearing the stall warning horn just as you are about to touch down on the runway that's actually perfect, it shows you're holding off the plane as far as it will go before landing.

Hey Trev! Make sure to just fully service the plane you just bought (I know it's a lot of money that's going to be spent) but It's required after the harsh passenger flight you just had a mini heart attack with lol. It could be beneficial for passenger satisfaction and be better to have potentially lesser threats during a flight. Sometimes the overall condition of a part may be deemed 'GOOD' by the game but in reality sometimes it maybe worsen for individual components inside that part so a full service (or at least90% health) would be good for the plane, other than that, we rest our confidence with pilot Trevor Martin!

This is the easiest test to pass. Just flick on the autopilot, the nav route is already programmed into the system. Once you have captured the localizer, switch to approach mode. It will capture the glide slope and fly you down to the runway, Once you are down disengage the autopilot and flair for a good landing. You are allowed to fly VFR and use Autopilot at the same time.

should have switched over to approach for autopilot to control your descent on the ifr test. For fuel mixture, you can figure it out by looking at your RPM gauge and find the high midpoint - where when you move it either way RPMs fall - keep in mind that point moves as you gain or lose altitude.
