IFRANE MOROCCO 🇲🇦 Why Does This Place Exist?

Mor Acro discovers Ifrane for the first time as he travels Morocco with his family. Morocco is full of things to discover and one curiousity is Ifrane Morocco. Ifrane is in the middle atlas and it served as a place for French colonists to stay cool in the summer months. The French invaders also brought in trees and Architectural styles to mimic alpine chalets, giving Ifrane the nickname of Switzerland of Morocco. In the winter it snows in Ifrane and there are ski stations in Morocco. An English speaking university also adds to the diversity of the city. We enjoyed walking the many parks of Ifrane, seeing the famous lion statue, and eating at a delicious restaurant, foodie!
For dinner we enjoyed a nice steak and spaghetti bolognase while admiring the beautiful Moroccan landscape. The flora and fauna captivated us as summer approaches in the middle Atlas of Morocco

1:25 This building is the Bensmim Hospital, it was built during the 1940s and stopped working in the late 1960s. It was the biggest respiratory diseases hospital in Africa. Many tuberculosis patients were cured there. They chose this location because of the high air quality. Btw, Ifran means caves in amazigh and Azrou means the rock.

name originates from the Hebrew tribe of Ephraim (same pronunciation). Hebrew footprints are all over that country . Hebrews built the 'Ifrane' lion, which represents the Lion of the tribe of Judah. They are not supposed to try to 'remodel' it. He is a 'couched' lion. Pay attention to the direction the Lion is facing....

I am not sure if somebody responded already about the big bees you saw on the purple flowers. I think I saw at least one bumblebee, also common in Europe, latin name Bombus terrestris, but most of the big ones looked like Xylocopa violacea to me. A local species. Very beautiful, if I may add.

Hi, Everything you see in IFRAN and at the trade level, the reason is Corona and the appearance of the weather in the world. This municipality operates and depends only on winter when it snows because it has a ski area. It has been visited by all Moroccans and the world. But messages of beauty linger in this city

Like in Switzerland big hospitals were built for treating the tuberculosis in the last century. We still use them as rehabilitation centres but not in Morocco however.
