Are you using relative to last segment option on the polar settings to draw the parking lot polylines? You keep referring to acquiring a line or point. I'm trying to figure out how you are drawing lines perpendicular to the previous. It could be very helpful to me. Thanks :o)

when in modelspace pick View tab, Model Viewports panel, expand (pulldown) Viewport Configurations. Multiple viewport options are available.
