To further enhance the surface I added the lowering feature lines as breaklines. The result is very nice. Thanks Jeff

Thanks for the video. Can we convert the existing lines from the survey (like curb and gutter edges) to polyline?

Hello Jeff! Thanks for your tutorials. I have learned much from you! I have a question, how can I add a centerline to my tin surface. The centerline has vertical curbs. I had never done vertical curbs before. Is there a chance that you can show me how to do that?

Hi Jeff. I find you videos extremely helpful thanks. I was wondering if you had a full tutorial for this parking lot?
@JeffBartelsCAD7 жыл бұрын
Hi James, The parking lot site plan is something I built for an Autodesk University class that I presented this year. Over the last few weeks I've been creating tutorials that demonstrate some of the workflows I used to build the data set. That being said, I'm afraid I do not have a full tutorial that walks through everything start to finish.

Thanks for the quick response. I haven't used Civil3D in years and I'm trying to piece together applications that work for my design from hell haha. I attempted using Corridors and assemblies to create the surface and grading but ran into some issues. I'm going to attempt to try it again using feature lines. Would be nice to find a step by step tutorial.

Hi Jeff. I appreciate your videos so much! Quick question about your civil 3d essentials training on leveraging a feature line. Somehow in this video, your curb and gutter stay intact after you created feature lines at the top front of curb, even if their style priority is higher than the style of the proposed curb... How could that be?

Hello. Is it possible to change the thickness of the sidewalk structure on the ramp and lowered curb section? He would like to apply this to crossing the sidewalk.

Hi Jeff I sincerely appreciate your presentations. I find them helpful and clear to follow through. I have a problem with opening Xref files, when opening my drawing file which contains cross section sheets which are in Xref, my computer takes a long time to open. Can you help me solve the problem

Hi Jeff. Thanks for the great content. How do you get that 3D viewport on the right?
@JeffBartelsCAD4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jared - Using the VPORTS command, you can split modelspace into multiple viewports, each having a unique view and visual style. The help documentation will have more info on how it works. Hope this helps!

C3D is a powerful tool but too often I get the feeling it just overcomplicates a lot even simple tasks. Maybe I am oldschool. But for me at the end what really matters is no fancy 3D view but height lines. Before anyone hates. I work with C3D and found some nice workflows to get what I want. It was just a longer journey then expected

Barttel, could you tell me the features or characteristics of your computer? Clock's speed, memory RAM, and if you have any special video card. I have seen that your computer gives quick answer. Thank you for your video. As alway, they are excellent.

Hi Carlos, Please note that when I create recordings I will typically edit out "computer processing" such that viewers don't have to wait. For that reason, a finished recording will typically be several seconds faster than the original recording. I've provided my specs below. This machine has been working great for me and the work that I do. That being said, project sizes and system requirements can vary between users. If you are considering a hardware purchase, do as much research as possible to ensure it accommodates your specific needs.I've got a Dell Precision 7710, 32 GB RAM, NVIDIA Quadro M4000M video card, and a 1 Terabyte solid state hard drive.

Bartels, thank you so much for your quick answer. Where I am working, with an I5, 16 MG RAM computer, and handling 1 MG size file, changing views from one "tab" to another can take sometime 5 minutes. Of course, into this "tab" I have 19 profile views. I thought you had 64 MG RAM. Thank you Bartels again. I am one more of your strong followers.
