1 Day, 2 Thrift Stores, 3 Dell Computers!

It's spring break, which of course means more DC-area thrift shopping... and more stuff following me home! In what turned into quite a long video, I give you all a tour of a Dell Dimension E310, a Dell Optiplex GX270, and a Dell Optiplex 755, obtained from 2 different thrift stores over the course of 1 day... All the while, I make it plainly known that I'm really too tired to be making a video... by repeatedly managing to lose track of IDE cables vs. floppy cables!

thats a touch paranoid , i usually just re-partition the Hard drive and install windows from scratch , most people got crap on their system anyways

Dont get rid of your harddrive , just wipe it !! Dont take it out !! We need those harddrives !!

As I recall, I didn't end up getting rid of any of the hard drives. Wiping them worked just fine. The only drive that was suspect was the one in the GX270, which looked like it might be dying (based on its SMART data), but so far it hasn't died yet.

Depending on board / chipset / BIOS, that first one with DDR2 may be able to take a Core 2. Also worth hitting Jellybean on number 3, to see if the key looks like an individual OEM or a generic BIOS activated - even if it's individual OEM, it's now bound to that hardware, so you might as well snag it.
